Is it better to eat 6 meal daily or every 2-3 hrs instead of 3-4 meals daily? Does this actually speed up your metabolism?

if your body thinks its going to have food in a few hours or so its going to use that food quick, if it knows its going to have to wait 6 or 7 hours before it gets any more fuel its going to slow down...think about how professional free divers (no scuba tank) slow their breathing, and in turn their heart rates down, so they can last longer, they are starving their body for air, same principle with your body and food.

Nice post!

Try to keep the calories around 300-400/meal....

i've heard that it doesnt really make too much difference if u eat 6 small meals or 3 big meals metabolism wise, your body will work harder with a bigger meal but saying that the benefits of eating smaller meals are that you have a steady supply of energy and blood sugar (if ure eating clean), you wont be so hungry for example if u eat 2-3 hours but if u wat ages to et really hungry u can really pig out. Also if u eat moer at a meal then u should chances are ur body will not handle everything in one sitting and store as fat.

I use the 5-6 meal a day guideline to control hunger. I've read that the effect on metabolism is minimal - but if I only ate 3 meals a day I would most certainly overeat i'd be so friggin hungry!

i have tried the warrior diet 1 meal a day philosophy, i've tried 2-3 meals

even 4-5 meals but 6 meals a day evenly spaced out gives me more control and i've never been so cut up :D

so for me personally 6 meals a day is the WTG

I'd say eating more meals per day would keep insulin levels down and keep blood sugar levels regulated,.. a good thing!

Also, how do you eat a proper meal with protein, fibre, vegetables etc in only 3 meals without bloating? I know I can't...

And also Babyfaced Assasin:
Its much, much easier for the body to handle digesting all that protein with 6 meals instead of just 3. I think alot would be lost or converted to fat if it couldn't be used...
