Soy protein

Iv'e read many studies both for and against soy protein. Some say it does cause/trigger estrogen and some say it don't. As a vegan (will probably get flamed for this!) I am looking for protein sources other than meat and many people reccommend soy. Jus wandering if any bro's out there have any first hand experience using soy and whether it does cause estrogen? Thanks in advance!
 
ive used a lot of soy protein, back in the days when i actually cared about amino acid spectra

anyway cut a long story short, soy contains compounds that are really similar to estrogen, and press the same button (a receptor) in your body that estrogen does. it can therefore have an estrogenic type effect on the body.

that being said, those compounds arent very good at pressing the estrogen receptor, and id estimate that youd get minimal sides (if any) eating it

id look for you, but its 1 45 am and im about to faint

I have been using soy protein and every kind of soy products for years.
No tits or lack of libido here.

By the way, my training partner is an old time vegan. He uses different type of vegetable protein powders to have a decent amount of every type of amino acids. Mainly pea protein and rice protein.
 
This might be a little late, but I have been Vegan for years and soy protein is f'n great. I use some stuff from my gym and it seems to work the best. I have also tried rice protein and spirotein and they both taste completely awful so I couldn't keep drinking them. If there is a 24 hour fitness by you they have wonderful soy protein. good luck man. GO VEGAN!
 
soy gave me the worst case of rolling gas I have ever had. it was like the fog of death every 20 minutes.
