Sodium, does it prohibit fat loss?

Everyone says that you should stay away from sodium, ie. salt. Well, im a salto-holic. I was wondering if there were any bad effects besides retaining water. It may keep you looking bloated, but you could get rid of that in a week of drinking a lot of water and going low sodium. What im asking is, does it prohibit fat loss or gaining muscle.

unless you already have hypertension, sodium is not a big issue (just water retention)

unfortunately, in todays society, everything seems to be processed, so actually, it's VERY easy to surpass the RDA of 2000mg of sodium per day. Most condensed soups, chili, etc contain roughly 30-50% of your sodium PER SERVING. Cold cuts at your local deli are high in sodium as well as all the lovely food from your local fast food joint. Heck, even a slice of fat free cheese contains about 10% of sodium. Your best bet is obviously looking at the labels as well as eating veggies and non-processed foods

No, it is only an issue of water retention. However, the fact that it can elevate blood pressure should make you at least limit your sodium intake. Especially if you are juicing. I only point this out because most of the people on EF are steroid users.
