Smolov Questions

So I've been looking at different routines and I think I'm going to settle on the Smolov squat routine but first i have a few questions:

1. Will my upper body continue to progress even though this program is geared towards squats?

2. I am trying to los some weight, approx. 10 lbs., will I be able to make gains even though I am gradually trying to lose fat?

3. Will this be a good routine for someone coming out of the 5x5?

4. Just to rehash, will I need to eat alot to do well in this program? If so, I read this program burns fat so these excess calories wont be a problem, true?

Aight thanks guys.

1) Probably not. Honeslty there are a lot better programs than the smolov squat, it will work but all you will be able to do well is squat. You can't deadlift heavy during the program. Also it is designed for competive lifters whose squat is weak, not the average person
2)No you won't make very good gains if you are trying to lose fat, you have to be eating a SHIT TON to do the smolov.
3) I guess it could be good....but I wouldn't suggest it at all
4)You will need to eat a ton otherwise you won't recover properly. If you follow the smolov correctly you will need to literally only concentrate in squatting and if you don't eat enough you will not recover between workouts.

2) as far as im aware muscle burns more calories as you increase your muscle load, so as long as you build muscle youll burn more calories thus lose fat weight, but may stay the same weight overall through gain in muscle or slightly go down.

4) you have to eat alot to do well in any form of exercise. just eat beneficially.
