Smoking in itself won't affect bodyfat. However, if you're smoking consistently throughout the day, it affects your endurance. If your endurance is low, you won't be able to lift as much or run as long as you normally would. So in that sense, it affects your gains.
 
Smoking constricts the blood vessels which creates a deficiancy in oxygen to the blood.

Do not smoke at leats two hours before a workout, and again not right after (it will kill your pump)

Save it for the non workout days or quit for good.
 
I would advise you to not smoke whatever the circumstances.Smoking is not healthy in any form and will only hinder your health and fitness-the very reason why we work out and eat so good.
 
Nicotine can even be anabolic. But I'lll help you quit by stating some false studies.


Studies have shown smoking to cause the following.

Little wussy girl strength syndrome
Gyno
Atmospheric pollution
Teeth so yellow cars slow down when you smile.
Fingers stained worsed than your ass crack scratch finger.
Breath worse than mine


Quit, and you won't have to worry about how it effects your performance in the gym. You can do it man kick it. You'll be better off.
 
What about smoking weed ? Isn't it better then both smoking moderatley and drinking moderatley if you smoke out maybe once or twice a week ?
 
Smoking pot is worse than smoking cigs because there is no filter. My friend in college only smoked weed once or twice a month. He went to the doctor for a chest infection and she told him to quit smoking, he replied, "I don't smoke!" and she replied," You're smoking something!" Even though he was a "non-smoker" he had the lungs of a smoker. Admittedly, he did smoke a lot more often in high school but it just shows the damage that can be done to your body.
