Sleep

Until you wake up naturally. Your body will take care of minor details such as length; you just need to go to bed early enough so that your sleep will run its course.

Just want to clarify this, how many hours of sleep should you get a night? I've heard 9+ for teens, and at least 8 for adults.

I typically get about 7 hours.

As long as you feel rested. When I was a teenager, I was sleeping 10 or 11 hours per day.

I get 2-6 hours YES IT SUCKS,but I have to wake up when my 11 month old wakes up and I CAN`T sleep when she naps. because I`m too wired. I know that is digging into my gains or lack there of. lol

What can someone do if they don`t get enough sleep? Is there any alternative? I DO "rest" on the couch (I know it`s not the same as sleep, but I`ll take it) when I can. Does anyone go on less than 5 hours?

Napping can be beneficial, though I have heard that you don't enter stage "4" (was it?) sleep until about four consecutive hours of rest, when the body begins to release growth hormones and really repairs itself.

Any rest is better than no rest though. Don't wanna go around feeling run down, now do ya'?

I too get only 2-6 hours tops, except when I dont have to work the next day. Then I make up for it by getting 12+ hours.

i get about 9 hours sleep a night but i have a sleeping condition that makes me wake up like 2 times a night. Sort of cuts out my deep sleep period but ohwell. Nothing i can do about it.

.... maybe you might want to look into meditation? I don't do it myself, but I've read that 2 hours of proper meditation is the equivalent of 8 hours sleep.... I don't know how much that claim can be trusted, and I don't know what they mean by "equivalent".... but it might be worth researching.

I get 8-10 hours a night, and sometimes an hour or so nap in the afternoon when I can.

I read something last year where the American Medical Association concluded that adults only need 7 hours.... not 8 hours, as was previously prescribed. In my opinion, it's just a ploy so they can increase the length of the working day.

And while it would be nice to sleep until I woke up naturally, that really varies from day to day.... I'd have to go to sleep at 4:00 in the afternoon to ensure I was awake in time for work the next day.

I only get 6-7 hours a sleep. I am ALWAYS tired. jsut about the only time i have full energy is at the GYM, and thats cause i psych myself up so much for it - i love the gym. Then the rest of the day i am tired. I hate having to get up for work.

I have read, i think maybe it was Ian king, who said that what is important about sleep is getting as many hours before midnight as possible. It has something to do with your sarcadian [spelling] rhthym or something like that. Apparently, pre-12AM sleep hours are much bettre for you than post-12AM sleep hours. I wish i could get that. But by the time i am done with gym and eating, it is already like 11:30.

Life would be sooo much easier if i didn't have to work.
