For the next 3 mths i'm going to follow a diet as follows to get cut. It's simple but i think it'll work fine. any feedback is welcome

1. eat every 3-4 hrs. No set amount of meals, just food at those intervals
eg
1. fruit salad, LSA or flax seed oil (5gms) and low fat yogurt
2. Chicken pita with pineapple (such as nando's minus the mayo) and a small salad or some vegetables
2. Large salad and lean meat or tofu plus a complex carb such as sweet potato or rice.

Snacks(2) Fruit(before resistance training)
Protein drink in water (post workout or split pre and post)
Black coffee before cardio

So basically i'm having about 1-2 gms per kg of bodyweight of protein and carbs vary.

Also walking 5 days in morning or after dinner for 1 hr and lifting 2-3 days per week. Basically i just want to get ripped. Size isn't that important to me at present

I'd go no longer than 3 hours without a meal. If you ate every 4 hours you'd be lucky to get 4 meals a day. I'd suggest 5-6 spread out more evenly to keep blood sugar stable and keep a constant supply of nutrients in your body.

I'd suggest a protein shake with this meal as carbs and fats alone are a bad choice. The yogurt itself has little protein so it doesn't quite count.

2. Large salad and lean meat or tofu plus a complex carb such as sweet potato or rice.

I'd prefer the lean meat over the soy. Nothing wrong with some soy, but while dieting I think the lean meat will do more to keep you satiated as well as providing a better protein source.

Again don't consume fruit/carbs without some protein or you're putting your body in a prime environment for fat storage.

Protein drink in water (post workout or split pre and post)

Since you don't seem to be scared of carbs in general then I'd say you definately need some post workout. It seems strange the one safest time to consume carbs in your entire day(post workout) is the one that you leave them out of.

Get some high GI carbs immediately post workout with your protein shake and then on the next meal eat your lean protein source with some complex carbs.

Regardless if size is your goal or not you need to definately be serious in your weight training. It is far more important to your fat loss than the walking is. Weight training not only helps to preserve muscle mass, but it also boosts your metabolism and burns calories. Not to mention if you are untrained you will likely gain muscle while dieting and this will help you to lean out even further.

thanks for the advice.
I do train w/ weights. 3 days
1. ch/bi/abs/calves
2. shd, bk, abs/calves
3. legs/trie,abs/calves

Just out of personal experience i find i get hungry every 3-4 hrs. Also i'm studying so i don't want to cut back on carbs too much. But i'll take your points into consideration
cheers

too much fruit
fruit is not good really on a cutting diet cos it's full of fructose which nicely loads up liver glycogen which spills over into adipose tissue as fat :(

I never suggested on cutting back carbs, only that you should eat them at important times. If you're going to eat carbs in general then definately get them post workout. It really makes no sense to eat carbs during the day but have zero after your workout. The only time you shouldn't have carbs post workout is if you're doing a CKD which you're not.

If I were you, I'd go the extra distance and write down exactly what you're eating and when (for your own benefit). I know with me, that if I try to guesstimate what I'm eating, it's a lot less effective than if I actually write it down. 9 times out of 10, I was way off on what I was actually getting (as far as my macro split).
