shuttle runs?

I was just wondering what are shuttle runs and what does running left and right mean in them? I'm getting tested on these next month and I want to get ready for them.

A Shuttle Run: two lines 10 yards apart. You stand parallel to one line, the line should be either to your right or left. This is the tricky part, run sideways to the line, touch it, come back to the first line, touch it, then sprint to the second line. It's like when a linebacker scrapes to the outside on a run play, it's a quickness move.
Hope this helps. Try searching the web for some illustrations.

Peace.

there are plenty of variations of shuttles, the one i believe u are talking about is the pro shuttle which is tested at the collegiate and pro level, start in the middle of 10 yards, go touch either line then get to the other on ethen sprint throught the startin piont, a good time for this should be around 4.0 sec or less for a back/linebacker
