interesting poll, but how about advice? I've tried both, but cannot seem to get enough activation with dumbells, or even enough weight. Body parts do get in the way when doing it with a barbell, but can lift to failure. Question is... is it OK to lean forward on barbell lift to clear yourself, or are we talking back injury. I've tried it on the smith machine and was up to 245 before I noticed I was also pushing up with my toes and the shoulders were not going as high as before.
