Yessir. For those who say that it encourages promiscuity, I think that's nonsense. Sex has never had to be encouraged. The practical benefit far outweighs any moral issues IMO.

my view too:)

One more thing daniel-san, I've always enjoyed your posts. But I'm afraid I don't actually wuv you with all my heart. Sorry bro. :)

Fact #1: Children already receive sex education from their public schools (I believe I received mine when I was somewhere around 10-11 years old).

Fact #2: It's not working.

Should they be given access, as in the ability to purchase, condoms? Yes.

Should schools waste taxpayer money to misinform 10 year old children when their parents are more qualified to provide this information, and, not to mention, are the ones who should be responsible for it? No.

My father was an OB/GYN - as a kid I liked to help him load the slides for his conferences.

He also made me watch them.

I have seen photos of diseases that would make the strongest stomach turn.

SHOCK - REALITY

THAT is what should be included in SEX ED. Personally I think kids should learn this stuff at home but that won't cover the parents that think if they don't talk about it their kids won't have it or at least they won't have to know about it.

If they are going to have sex regardless - they might as well have the access to condoms and they should be shown how to use them. Does giving them a condom license to have sex? Perhaps, but I think they are gonna do so either way, you're just making it easier for them to have sex with a condom.

I was 19, nearly 20 my first time and frankly I was like - that's the big deal? At 12, 13, 15 - I don't know how you could enjoy it if you really don't know what you are doing. Perhaps I'm just ignorant to how much sex young teens are having.

I think the element of FEAR should be instilled more. Not only the fear of pregnancy, disease or death but parental fear and fear of shaming your parents into not acknowledging you as a part of your family.

Perhaps I grew up differently - but fear of my parents and not getting what the big deal was more prevalent to me than having sex. If I were to do it again - I would have waited even longer, no doubt.

Yes, teenagers should have access to sex education and condoms. The United States is very prude when it comes to talking about sex- it is natural.. Years a ago these teenagers would be getting married and having children (no questions asked)- simply because their lifespan was so much shorter.

Sex is natural..

damn right they should,if not there would be many kids running around,my school gives them out for free every thursday all morning in the nurses office, although some do suck and are to small,i just pick my own

i don't think they should recieve "tools" as you put it for safe sex, buut they should be educated about it.

too small for even you? wow they must be extra extra small. jk

Yes,
Sex education also teaches proper ways to make sure STD's are not transmitted etc.
Who wants a bunch of kids running around and getting pregnant and giving std's and HIV because sex ed just "might" make for more promiscuity. It also prevents parents from having to explain it,and explain it improperly.

Dad-The bee inserts the honey into the bird
kid- I don't get it,I am not a bee,and I am not a bird
Dad-It's a figure of speech
Kid-I still don't get it.
Dad-Ask your mom

YES. I WAS HAVING SEX AT 15 AND HAD TO FIND OUT EVERYTHING THE HARD WAY. AND I STARTED LATE. LOL

Yes they should. It is naive for a lot of parents to think that their children are not engaging in sexual activity with the 'boy next door.' Everyone is not doing that, of course, but more are than we fail to realize sometimes.

If they are going to do it anyway, no matter how much it is taught not to do it...well, give them protection.

boys and girls are ALWAYS going to have sex. That is a fact of life and nature. You might as well teach them how to do it right and give them the tools to be safe.
