the only thing I "hate" about you is the fact that you ignore us when we ask you to leave the sports related topics. It seems every other Mod listens to us, but you could care less what we think because you have "orders"

It's just always been my understanding that sports posts should be moved to the sports board.

Why don't you request to George that sports posts remain here? If he wants that, I'll be more than happy to leave them here.

This isn't my board. What George wants the mods to do, I will do.

Is this some kind of majority vote thing? That's so Democratic. I will have no part of it.

I think we should vote for Elite Representatives to handle this decision. We should have one Elite Representative for each board to insure fairness. There are 21 boards, so we need to elect 21 Elite Representatives. However... the Anabolic and Chat forums have a lot of visitors... so maybe we should give them a few extra representatives since they make up more of the board. After we've elected these representatives, they can have a majority vote to decide whether or not RyanH should be stripped of his moderator status.

It's the only fair thing to do. If we support this silly democracy-style poll, then we are only lowering ourselves to the same level as his vile, evil, despicable beliefs!

Warik, come on! We both know that very often the minority is the "right" faction. Consider abolition of slavery, the right of women to vote----they were both minority views at one point. And have since become the majority view.

Finally, mankind saw the error of its ways. Our whole system was designed to protect the minority from the whimsical passions of the majority.

Long live those wise Justices who stood against the majority in the face of opposition..:D :D :D
 
I do't think he should be stripped of the status.

I do think if he is pissing you guys off then he should be more like a cop or judge and use a little discretion when moving and deleting threads, meaning asking himself if it is really necessary to move it just because the rules say so. Leniancy, not ridgedness for a better term.

I voted no, although I think he's a great addition to the board and I enjoy the discussion's he generates here I don't think he's a good mod.
However too many people get wrapped up on this particular board. There's another board here which got new mods, at least three of which never post on the board !.
We can't go on a democratic vote here anyway since George asked for board user's to give there views as to who we'd like as mods, to which he almost totally ignored !.
I hope this thread is not going to be 'hi-jacked' by the usual bunch who like to bring this down to the gutter, so I'll just repeat myself again. He's a great (or good anyway) addition to the board, but not a good or popular choice as a mod.

Your petty arguement that the minority is often the right faction continues to pit people against you which you further drive by attacking someones ideals of what they feel is right and wrong. In America we Rule by Majority not minority.

I dont see how slavery has anything to do with majority vs minority. That was an Argument based on the improving Economics of the South just before our industrial Revolution began which would have given a instinctive Advantage for the south. The only people who brought morals of right and wrong into that debate were the Religous leaders of the day.

What do the justices have anything to do with women voting or slavery???wasnt that a right that was granted by legislative branch and the Executive branch????
 
Democracy and the laws that govern it keep the average person safe from people who would subject them to their own will, such as me.

Don't misunderstand, I am 100% pro democracy, it just always strikes me as odd that the people who hate the US fom of government are the ones who are protected by it most.

This is absolutely untrue. In America, we have a system of checks and balances where the minority can win out over the foolishness of the majority. For instance, consider the filibuster in the Senate, a minority of Senators can fillibuster to stop unwise majoritive legislation. Further, although Congress can pass legislation based on a majority of votes of Congressmen, the wiser U.S. Supreme Court can come along and quite frankly say, "Oops, I don't think so, what you are doing is unconstitutional." Thus, the minority has and always will have a very strong voice in this great nation.

Because the unenlightened majority at that time believed slavery was the thing to do. In the infamous "Dred Scott" decision, laws treating slaves as mere property were upheld. Finally, this unwise majoritive view became the minority view and slaves found their place in the sun------a place where we are all free. May Abraham Lincoln rest in peace.

Again, justices in the U.S. Supreme Court have considerable more power than the United States legislature. If the U.S. Supreme Court wants to overrule a legislative or even an executive decision, it usually can do so, if it so chooses. Most of this nation's power rests with the United States Supreme Court....as seen in the case of Bush v. Gore.

Long live our fair and brilliant system where the minority can rise to become the majority............

Hmmm. I wouldn't think it would be prudent to impeach a mod solely on the grounds that he's trying to faithfully execute the duties that he has been given. That seem a bit reactionary to me. Perhaps a compromise can be reached between this mod and the boards vets. Just my 2 pennies.
 
I don't understand what the problem is.
If you know that a post is going to be moved to another board before you post it , then post it on the right board to begin with.
If you have a complaint about what is allowed on
a certain board, then contact George and explain your reasons. I know he will listen to your ideas.

I just think some people are looking for reasons to
gripe about this mod. or that mod..
 
Wow, a liberal Democrat who whole-heartedly supports our republican style of government. Maybe RyanH has a redeeming quality or two. Keep him, don't keep him, I don't care either way. I still voted yes because I just can't bring myself to vote for a single Democrat (for anything) after their shameful, hypocritical behavior during the impeachment.
 
i think he has been fine. he says some stupid shit when you complain but i generally dont notice anything he has done. what really annoys me is when mods throw out an attitude of superiority for no reason at all. i dont think he has done that with me.
 
Ryan answer me this....What power does the Supreme court have in enforcing it's choices made???Who do you think is going to be given 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on the choices list when The Fed Police (FBI, ATF, DEA, US marshalls) are going to listen to???I'd bet if push came to shove the supreme court would be the last to follow....It's easy for the Supreme court to vote on an issue when no Southerners were on during the issues of Slavery. A bit biased so it seemed....You really are naive if you think Slavery was the Big moral issue that you claim it was. Some moral issue considering the NAACP still wont admit that there were many Black slave owners who had land and wealth in the south at that time....It wouldn't be PC for them to admit this...

Because he is smarter than them, usually better informed and is passionate about his positions. People generally dislike smart people and find idiotic reasons to rationalize their contempt (like moving sports posts). Ryan's crime is his lack of reticence. And then, of course, there's his homosexuality.

I think this sort of decision should be left to George, the admin guys and possibly the other mods to decide. If you dont like the way he moves threads make an official complaint to say George.....you have a far better chance of getting heard than if you hold one of these polls.

I made a post stating all my beliefs and the vast majority said that I wasn't racist and they agreed with me. I think you and Wodin were the only ones who said I was racist. But I guess we are the ones who are in the wrong.

Sure, bud. A person who has a simple objection to one behavior, like moving the sports posts, does not indulge in your nasty invective. If you want a change in George's policy, ask for it. It's not a reason for you demand Ryan's blood, unless you really are a total idiot.

Winny Fan, I could have gotten into ANY Canadian University.
I am among the VERY FEW people in Ontario EVER to get
12+OAC's. I did the fast-track program with 14 OAC's.
I also did Calculus/ A&Geometry and Finite, along with
Chemistry, Physics and THREE languages(All at
OAC level btw)
My grade point average for my top 6 was 94.5% and
87.8% for my ENTIRE 14 OAC's.
U of T would have PAID me to go there....LOL
In fact I could have gone to half-a-dozen
IVY LEAGUE schools BUT my mother had this
fixation with England so I went to OXFORD for
1 year. The course sucked big-time so I went
to Glasgow.
You are SO BARKING UP the wrong tree its not
even funny.
In business OAC btw I got a 99% average.
Not to mention a 95% in Calculus, 96% in A&G
and a 91% in Finite.
Anything remotely related to MATH I EXCEL in. Period.

LOL. Respectable yes, but in my school in Ottawa one girl
got a 99.7% average for her 6 OAC's.
I was in the upper-middle range for grades at my school.
My class average for the 6 OAC's was an incredible
88.4%. I was 9th in my class.(of 30) You've probably
heard of Ashbury College in
Ottawa. Posh private school. Great sports and
academics, shitty boarding facilities though.
And, I played for the Ottawa Senators Junior A.
I currently have a Bsc is Bio-chem(I actually didn't
even know I had until they told me....LOL, I just
completed a shit-load of bio-chem courses because
I like them, and appaently I got enough credits to
qualify for a bachelors..)
My real degree is Aerospace Engineering. I'm going into
my final year of my 5-year Masters "sandwich" course.
A sandwich course is a Bsc+MEng all rolled into one
btw. NOT exactly easy pickings.
In fact the drop-out rate is 70%.
My mother is FANATICAL about education, I have enough
qualifications for three people.

Actually, I think Ryan should be put in a pit bull's harness, fed a couple of Viagra and set loose to sodomize a few of you guys who claim this is only about his moving some sports posts off the forum.

It seems your view is that RyanH, although following George's directives, has altered the status quo (the status quo being leave the sports posts in chat/discussion). Perhaps RyanH adheres to the letter of the law too much and should act in a manner more consistent with the spirit of the law.
But resorting to invective and starting a thread to have him removed seems to be too much. Perhaps starting a poll asking if people want the sports threads to remain here, and then submitting the results to George would be more constructive.
I think RyanH makes some good intellectual contributions. Even though I am liberal, I don't always agree with his opinions, either. As for those people who attack him because he may be a homosexual (I have no idea), that's petty. I would prefer less invective and more reasoned discussion on this board.

I understand, but we did start a thread asking George to let the sport posts stay.

Ryan is just being stubborn, its really not that big of deal to let the sport posts stay for a day or so, but he moves them seconds after they are posted. We had this discussion with the mods this time last year and they all respected our opinions and let the sport posts stay. Now we are having this discussion again and all the mods, aside from Ryan, listened to us.

When someone posts a pic on the Anabolic board, it stays there for about 24 hours so everyone can see it. Ryan maybe you should go corrupt the anabolic board because they are breaking the rules.:rolleyes:

He dosen't have to be a moderator to join any board and give his input (which most will disagree with but which generally do stir up discussion). However, it seems from the overwhelming amount of complaints voiced that he is 1010% douchebag, worthless, and an overall detriment to EF as a moderator.

As far as my opinion goes, and whatever its worth, George selected Ryan to be a mod. It's his board, so it's his decision. I don't agree with most of the things he says, but I don't hate the guy. He does incite discussion, though many of his posts are condescending. All in all, he's a good addition to the board, but lots of people claim he abuses his power. I don't know, he's never edited one of my posts or moved my threads (that I know of).
 
Like I said, that's all fine and good, he just dosen't need to be a mod to do those things. Plus, then I could put him on "ignore".:D
 
I would love to see RyanH serve his country and spout off his brand of politics on any milltary base, he wouldn't make it through the first night without a blanket party. The "man" should leave here and do it all by him self. I think he came damn close to getting the boot today by George himself after that crap about paying out taxes that we "owe" to the Taliban. He's nut's to try and post that here on a board that is hosted out of NEW YORK CITY. A sicker mind I have never heard of. He's on my ignore list forever. I would gladly help pay for his airfare to Afganistan, except they don't have an airport any more, THANKS TO MY TAX DOLLARS WHICH I WOULD GLADLY PAY AGAIN. So I guess a parachute is the only way he's gonna land intact, except I didn't offer to pay for one. Just throw him out of the plane and let him grow wings...
