not to defend the bastard but there is always a chance he slept with a chick who claimed to be 21 or whatever and she was lying (i highly doubt it but still)... i've seen some YOUNG dudes on those sites and often it's because they were 18 and she was 17 or 16... parents pressed the matter and boom the kids fucked for life..

Yeah here in VA we can look up the sex offenders as well, and we have one that lives in the same townhouse complex as us. He's a sick freak of nature, considering his crimes against children. When he moved in he made an effort to get to know his neighbors, almost too much of an effort, so i did some searching. When he came by my place, i told him straight out that i knew who he was and what he did and NOT to ever talk to my wife or I again. That was 2 years ago, and i've never spoken to him since.

Victims are people, offenders are people. People make mistakes.
Look, it's a shit crime, one of the lowest to do, but it doesn't merit a death sentence in my opinion, or the conclusion of legislation.
It's a topic that charges opinions with anger cuz of emotion...

I told this fuckwad a couple times not to park there and just recently he started parking there again. Any suggestions?

I feel this negative deplorable "stigma" against child rapists actually *backfires* and is getting kids killed.

I wonder how many kids are killed, cuz their perpetrators believe it's better to be a murderer in prison, then a child rapist.

And how they have a BETTER chance of killing the girl, dumping her body where they can't find it -- then running off. If you keep her ALIVE, she can go to the authorities and give all kinds of info that could lead to you.

Obvious solution: Kill her.

Since we're in the OJ Simpson world of legal justice -- there's not much you can do. He served his time, and is free now. I do think society should step in and treat these guys BEFORE they molest girls. Or help them with their problem after they get out.

Chastising them, and duping them to the bottom of the food chain list only makes them spite society even more. Which, combined with some lovely prozac -- only sets up a dangerous situation once again down the road. Like the killing a couple weeks ago from an obviously "non-rehabiliated" child molester.

Same thing with violent criminals. Most leave, and are back to their violent ways within 5 years. Usually commiting a few murders along the way.

fully agree and think that the offender should have the option of posting their case history (omitting names of victims) on the site (ie a lawyer writes up the facts of the case)

i know a guy (who i dont like at all, he is a bit of a knob) who was accused and i think convicted of rape, when i KNOW that the sex was completely consensual, and i think age had something to do with it. in that sort of case, the public lumping you in with a rapist who raped a girl at knifepoint is completely unfair, imo.

He hasn't paid his debt.. no matter what anyone says. Do you think that kid will EVER be the same? No, that child will be living the rest of his life with that horrid crime on his or her mind.

Granted the Death penalty maybe harsh, but something other than allowing these sick people to live in my neighborhood should be done. Hell give them an island.. f**k I don't care. But keep them away from me and my family.

I have had experience with repeat offenders. Some one very close to me was molested over and over by a man that served prison time for the same crime. He waltzed into her life at a time of need and help provide for her, became a father figure then repeatedly took advantage of a 7yr old baby... took pictures videos etc. She was scared to death to tell because he threatend to KILL HER had she.

He had to make one public announcment and that was it... It was over 10 years before he did this to her. How was the family to know? He wasn't marked or stamped... He was trusted and became part of her family. All to find out that he had been molesting her. Who's to blame in this situation? Believe me the custodian of this child had a hard time dealing because she took the blame. alot of "if's" and "buts" were thrown around.. but it doesn't change the fact that a baby was voilated... and is still seeking help for it.

Do you want to know what this sick man did when he was contacted and told that he was needed in for questioning...

He went and planned his own funeral, bought his own burial plot... and then Shot his self! Damn best thing that Sick bastard could have done IMO.

If a person stoops to that level.. assulting and molesting a kid there is something wrong with him/her. There are some mental problems and they can't be fixed. The Gov't should (though I know it will never happen) find another solution other than allowing them back on the streets with other innocent childern. How are we as parents to know if this person or that person has been convicted of Molestation?

Why not. We let guys who blow people like you and me away for $5, back on the streets? My city is full of former murderers and rapists walking all around me, thanks to Sherriff Lee Baca's 2004 "We run out of prison beds, so we're letting everyone out" campaign.

Like i said -- increasing the penalties for child molestation can backfire on society. More kids will be killed, purely to not get caught. We have to pick a middle-ground here.

Getting back to a normal and healthy, happy life... well.. lets put it this way, something is lost, something that can't be restored. I place a child molestator right aside a murder... IMO you just killed the innocence of someone. It can never come back.

Ya, she lived, but in total misery almost everyday of her life. She constantly wakes up with nightmares about it. A simple man, maybe, but I have a simple solution to sex offenders that would put an end to it. Strip them down butt naked, tie their hands behind their backs, put their genetals on a tree stump and then bust them with a sledge hammer. I look at pedifiles as being no better than a murderer. Bam

I also look down at incompetent governments that know the warning signs of child molestors, have the reports from the public -- yet do dick-all until something happens.

Case in point: that Florida case. Someone should give the public some answers on why the state fucked up here and let him loose.

I understand the argument. If you make the penalty for rape the death penalty, then why not just kill the victim.

I agree. Unless you know more about these people, you shouldn't be jumping to conclusions and wanting to "beat some ass" when there are different levels to any situation. I've known someone that was 18 and had sex with someone a little younger and got his ass thrown in the slammer for it. A couple of years age difference - what's the damn big deal in that situation if it's consensual? Nothing.

I'll admit that child porn is VERY VERY BAD, but turning a cold shoulder on somebody isn't helping them. Constantly calling someone names, treating them like shit, etc doesn't solve any problems . . . it just proves that you're a Jerry Springer Freak. And I don't recall any episodes where Jerry Springer successfully resolved a problem.

I agree.

They did their time -- now it's the state's resonsbility to watch over them, and watch for any suspicious signs, and make sure they're fit to go back into public.

It's the second part -- the states are fucking up on. They think making some computer database makes it seem to the world they're doing their job. When they aren't. It's a simple smoke and mirrors effect.

Most of the time, they allow them BACK into the same neighbourhood! How insulting.
