Saturated fat

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on saturated fats? I've been told by some sports nutrition specialists that some saturated fat is necessary and helps to build muscle. (I'm trying to build muscle)...but then saturated fats have a bad rap overall. Thoughts/ experiences?
 
I think if its natural such as nuts,fish,fruits,and lean meats its good. The processed fats, fats from farm raised fish, and corn fed beef are more on the harmful side....especially anything processed in mass production cause its been modified far from its original natural form.
 
IMO, Unless you're eating McDonald's every day you really shouldn't be worrying about it.

Sat fats that come from real food that you prepare - beef, etc. are good to go. You don't want the majority to be saturated fats, obviously. But to think eating sat fats in your grub is gonna kill you or something is kinda ridiculous. Buy lean meat and no worries.
