Sam's Club/BJ's

We've had 2 of these stores in my area for years now and I don't think I've ever been in there once. (And it's right next door to Home Depot too) Just curious how the prices are in there for tuna, chicken, meat, eggs.... Just saw Harbinator mention cottage cheese for $5 of the 3lb. package which is a lot less than most places. Do you have to pay membership fees, have to buy a certain amount each time you go....Overall good deals?

I go to Sam's. Membership is ~$30/year.

Definately worth it for eggs, canned tuna, canned chicken, and other things in bulk. I also get many of my meats such as beef and turkey there.

I think it is worth it, especially at the rate I go through that stuff.....

I think BJ's works on the same kind of scenario..

At Sam's I get all of my almonds and walnuts(48oz containers) there as well as 10lb bags of chicken breast. Also, Fish oil pills and multi-vits are pretty darn cheap too for the big bottles.

Haha yeah.. I got a bottle of Omega-3's thats like a gallon I think it has like 2000 pills or something.. Lasted me like a year..

make sure you test out the product, before you buy a shitload of it. I just bought 100 cans on starkist tuna. yuck.. wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy toooo much water. tuna is all soggy.

?????

I love Starkist! I think you're supposed to drain the water when you open the can..

I love Sam's I can get enough food there to bulk on for $100 a week (including a $8 on lunch at work, on average). My usual haul at Sam's is 6 dozen eggs $7, 4 3lb tubs of cottage cheese $20, 2 6.5lb bags of 99% lean chicken breasts, $27, I also get protein bars there, omega 3 pills, glucosamine MSM etc...

If you can't tell, I love it, and membership is around 25-30/yr I think. Hell I save that much every week or two.

you wind up not saving money at Sams/Costco/BJ's.

The reason is everything is so cheap, you wind up buying like $250 worth of food. And then magically its all consumed 2 weeks later...

LOL! It does just dissapear doesn't it?

I've got four kids and a hubby who's into bodybuilding. 250 is a good day.

We have a memebership there, I usually just buy the stuff that we go through pretty quickly b/c we eat it so frequently, ie: tuna, cereal, cottage cheese & peanut butter
