Ripening Avacadoes

What I mean is,when they are that green color they are a little tougher than when they turn darker. All the store had was bright green and I like them right at the time they hit that dark. Thanks for your input Iggy.I may just have to eat em like this. Are you enjoying this heat wave here in the O?

ive been sick the past few weeks. havent really been outside much. it is getting a little better though.

Any methods on how to ripen avacadoes quicker?
Thanks everyone.

you put them in a bag - sealed. The methane they put out naturally helps ripen them when they are sealed up.

Methane is what they use to turn an orange from green to orange so they can pick if off the tree about two months early and sell it to you in the store like it would look if it was ripenned on the vine.

No, no, and no the gas is not methane! That is what cows fart! The gas the sheds use to change the collor of Oranges is called:
Ethylene
Could you imagine a shitload of stinky oranges that had been methanated?
The are very close though C2H4 Ethylene and methane is CH4, its only one carbon away!

But yes seal the avacados in a brown bag.

Getting worse by the day. But what are you gonna do? Just hang in there and keep fighting. No reason to stop until the whistle blows.
