I can't stand brown rice....I can eat white rice. What's the difference? Everyone says not to eat white rice...it looks the same on the nutrition facts.

white rice has 150 calories
brown...170

neither one has any fat, cholesterol, or sodium.

both have 35g carbohydrates

white rice has 3g protein, brown has 4.....pretty much identical......

whats the big fuckin deal?

It is the type of Carb. Brown rice is a complex carb, do a google search on complex and simple carbs.

Oh, and this does not belong in the AAS forum

Brown rice has more fiber & will generally stay with you for a longer period of time, thus causing you to feel fuller, longer.....

Try cooking the rice in some type of low-sodium broth, Mrs. Dash has all sorts of salt-free seasonings, salsa is good with it, green tomatillo salsa, hot sauce, mixed veggies, etc.....

Thanks jenscats5. That's what I was looking for....a few good recipes

You're welcome!! Brown rice is pretty plain so pretty much anything will dress it up....

I like to mix ground beef or turkey or chopped chicken + veggies with it & some spices......
