Reps change while cutting?

To what extent should one's workouts change when they are on a cutting diet. Some say to lower the weight and go for more reps and others say to keep it similar. I know the mind/muscle connection is important, but I'm not sure I have so much of that. I have found that my workouts are more intense when my poundages are higher and reps lower than the alternative. I understand that when I'm cutting, I won't really be able to add much mass, but is there any research out there that says higher reps will decrease catabolism. I understand that the higher reps might force you to burn more calories, and I think that's why they advocate that in the magazines, but shouldn't the cardio take care of that. To me, it would almost seem like it would be better to stay with the higher weights and use the cardio to burn cals.
Any advice would be helpful as I'm still trying to figure this sport out.

Thanks

Thanks. That's my feeling. It seems they just need stuff to fill up magazines with. I always get wary when I see stuff like "alway do this" or "never do that."

i'd like some more responses if someone could help, cause i'm on a cutting cycle and doing same routine as bulking except with cardio. Is this right? or i read somewhere too that less weight more reps to burn cals.

Reps stay the same. Except i like to go long on my last set. For example my last set of preacher curls, i go until i cant go anymore, then walk out the gym.

You should run out of the gym. Better cardio, plus people will think you're nuts, something underrated when working out at crowded times. Start talking to yourself or, better yet, the weights and you'll hear none of that "mind if I work in" stuff.

I like to tell jokes to the weights....when they don't laugh I get mad....then I call them names to make them feel small and inferior....why can't I get a workout partner? BTW nobody ever asks me to work in :( HEHEHE
