Re: diet question
It is very hard to adjust to competition eating, but I found that the best way to approach it is to look at eating simply as scheduled refueling. If you start obsessing about cravings for stuff that you can't have, it will mess with your mind. You need to step back from that and NOT let it interfere with your preparation. That's why I like to spend time as I get closer to the show focusing on the cute stuff like the suits, my posing, etc. Things that distract from the diet and are fun.
At the end of the day, though, you either DO a show or you DON"T. Anything less than "DO", is 'DON't". Any cheat you think you can afford, means there's someone else at the show who knew they couldn't afford it and didn't do it , so they may win and you lost and you know why you lost. Yes, it puts a lot of pressure on you, but it definitely keeps the priorities straight.
Honestly, when I did my 2nd show I started spending more time on the chat boards to keep myself busy between meal times. And it helps! My trainer also told me to buy a Playstation to occupy myself ... I didn't but it's an idea..!
