Questions about anavar!

I am a female taking Anavar (10mg pills) for the first time.
I wouldn't consider myself a serious lifter, but I have consistently worked out at the gym using weights and machines for over a year and a half and I have had experience with a personal trainer in the past.
In the last 2 years, due to being away for school and not involved in sports, I had gained 20 pounds. I recently lost all that wieght natually by diet and exercise, but I have hit a plateau.. From here on out, my goals are simply just to tone up and to shed maybe a few more pounds.
After doing a lot of research for my boyfriend who wanted to try anavar for his first time, I decided to try it myself.

I am 19 years old, 5'2" and before starting anavar weighed 133 lbs.
I have been on anavar for exactly 1 week yesterday. I started at 10mg a day, splitting the pill into 5mg in the morning and 5mg in the afternoon 8-12 hours apart. After experiencing no problems the first week, I upped my dose yesterday to 15mg a day.
I have kept my diet in check by eliminating ALL startch carbs and only having dairy, veggie and little fruit carbs, and intaking lots of protien each day. Some of my meals only consist of protien shakes (water, yogurt, ISO protien powder, coco and peanut butter).
I have stuck to my usual 1 hour of weights and lifting every night, with 1 day off a week, and the occasion cardio throughout the week..

My concern is I am not seeing ANY results from the anavar and after weighing myself first thing this morning, I have put on 4 pounds! I realize it takes about 2 weeks to start noticing results, but I can't understand why I am gaining weight!?

Any suggestions on how to better help me achieve my goal, besides maybe adding more cardio? I appologize for the detailed novel, but I figured the more information the better.

Thanks!

Anavar will not let you lose weight, I use it to cut without losing weight through a cutting diet, in fact if your diet is on point u can actual gain a few pounds through a high protein diet over a period of time. Now you could be gaining weight and losing fat, though 4 pounds in a week seems a bit extreme for a female, it happens to me, but I don't mind the extra weight as long as it is not fat, with that being said, you are only 19, it's pretty young for AAS, good luck.

4 pounds of muscle in a week would be ridiculous (awesome, but not realistic). While it's not common, anavar does make some people retain water. I would have to assume that's where the extra weight is coming from, based on how long you've been using it.

And yes, at 19 and with your goals, you should not be anywhere near this stuff. You don't need it.

As far as suggestions, here are some things to consider:

It sounds like you've got a great base of knowledge to work with. Your diet foundation is solid as is your overall workout regimen. Good job. Monitor your overall energy and fatigue levels to ensure you're not overtraining. An hour a day 6 days a week should be fine, but expect to take a break for a couple days from time to time just to ensure you're giving your body enough time to recover and grow.

It is VERY common for women in your situation to starve themselves with their diet, which is completely counterproductive. The fact that you say you've eliminated *starchy* carbs and you are still eating fats tells me this probably does not describe you, which is great. Nonetheless, I'd recommend totaling up your calories for a typical day and making sure they aren't too low (1200-1300 would qualify as too low). My girlfriend (who has similar stats) is doing well at 1500-1600 calories a day.

I'm a big fan of AM cardio. If I was going to do an hour a day, I'd split it into two 30 minute sessions with one of them first thing in the morning. Helps keep the metabolism elevated for a greater portion of the day.

Don't underestimate (or for that matter, overestimate) the value of a good thermogenic.

Best of luck. I know you'll do well. Just give it time.

I personally think 15 mg is way too high for a first cycle. I am significantly bigger then you (height/weight) and ran var for a first cycle at 10 mgs for 12 weeks. I used it for building muscle though and gained 17lbs in that time frame (not all of which was muscle obviously). QT and others will know better but var isn't the first thing that comes to mind for females for cutting ....

Can you give us an exact break down of your diet. Plug the info int FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal so you can post your exact macro's.

When you post your diet we need all the info.

Example

8:00 a.m
1/3 cup oats
1/3 cup blueberries
6 egg whites

10:00
1 oz almonds

Noon
6 oz chicken breast
1 cup spinach
1 tbsp olive oil

2:00
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/3 cup blueberries

etc...

post the daily macro breakdown example
1500 calories 40% protein 30% carbs 30% fat

Bumping up to 15mg after a week is not a good idea at all it takes much longer to see overall results like probably 4 weeks. Most of your results depend on your diet hence all the diet info needed.
