question dealing with postworkout shake

i am soon switching to a training routine in which i will be performing all sets to 1-2 reps before failure, my quesiton is since i wont be going to failure and putting such a stress on my body and cns is dextrose still optimal postworkout or will the less energy cause it to be like having dextrose at any ordinary meal?

well my guess is that you're still going to be working hard to deplete your muscles of glycogen + you want to aid the recovery process post workout and i doubt that even though you're not going to failure, you'll still be in need of good nutrition post workout so I would strongly suggest you hit the shake... perhaps have half the serving as you usually would and see how you feel recovery wise

I think you should keep the postworkout shake as it is, maybe reduce it a little bit and have some extra complex carbs in your next regular food meal. You should make up for the lost calories!
