Question about figure/fitness/bikini models

This might sound like a dumb question, but I am curious...
I have noticed that a lot of figure/fitness/bikini models in fitness magazines wear outfits and strike poses that are a bit porny. Like showing a lot of boob and full ass cheek and bending over kind of look.
Is there something I am missing here, or it is a requirement of the job that you look kind of like a sex object?

Is it possible to be in those magazines, and only wear more modest workout wear? Or is there kind of an understanding that once you are in the business, you have to dress that way?

I am just going to be 100% totally honest with you from a mans perspective. The largest % of the target market that buys these muscle mags is "ME!!! MEMEMEMEMEM!" ok. And when I am flipping through the pages if you are in some kind of a add and have on "modest" clothing. Well I am sorry I prob could care less if you were drop dead beautiful and your beauty was simply memorizing. If I don't get an eye full of tits and ass then I did not even notice the add let alone you lol.. Page flipped NEXT!!!!!!!!!! And I move onto the next Article of interest or woman willing to give me some eye candy. Your job , the whole reason you are placed in that mag is to " sell something" Be it a Idea, a concept, a product, or the mag its self. You are place there as part of the selling points. In order to stad out, pop in my face and catch my attention do you think modest is going to cut it? I can get that walking down the street in any city in any state in the USA.

Now if you want modest you can prob get a job working for something like a yoga mag rather then a fitness mag I bet.

It's an interesting observation Trex. At our provincials this year there were a few bikini girls that really were "striking a pose" so to speak and bend over and flash it all was really more the pose. I do some volunteering with our provincial bodybuilding association and they received quite a few complaints about it. It's supposed to be a family event and it offended a few people. I get the magazines and understand that's what sells but for the stage, I think some of them can go a little bit overboard.

It all depends on who the model is. I think some look better than others in certain poses. I think you are going to start seeing more models in photos of them working out. As NeedTo said you have to catch the eye of the target consumer.

Good questions Trex!!!

This video here was the talk for several weeks on another board I visit. I just couldn't believe my eyeballs! Whoa nellie!

Here is another moon pose, but this was cleared up by the competitior saying that she was wearing a friends shoe that she had only worn 2x. She slipped as she turned and to prevent herself from falling on her face she tried to regain her balance.

I prolly best not comment.....

Interesting, I see.
So basically if you are ging to be featured in a men's bb ing mag then you have to do what sells to that market , but in a womens magazine, maybe not so much of a focus on showing T and A.
I have no problem with porn, I am not so much interested in being the porn star though. I'll leave that to someone else lol.
I like to read the men's targeted magazines more than the ladies ones, so I was just curious how it worked.

You are open minded Trex all good!
