Qualified with my Beretta 9mm yesterday

In the Army. For the past few years I have only trained with the rifle, so it was the first time I had to qualify on a pistol in a while. I was shooting high and left for the first two attempts.

Finally, I got some coaching, did a much better job of lining up the front and rear sights and controlled my stance and breathing.

Hit 37 out of 40. :)

I need to buy a personal 9mm so I can practice more in between qualifications.

Thanks. A German officer brought along the version they use. HK I think. I fired it as well, most of us thought it was a more accurate pistol.

Congrats Troop!...I remember qualifying with the 9mm....it was fun....but i'd pick up an HK....there 40 cal is AWESOME!!!

Congrats and good shooting. And a big THANK YOU for what you are doing for the rest of us. It is appreciated.

As for shooting high, that usually is a result of looking through the sights and at the target. Stay focused on the sights and make sure you are not "pushing: the pistol with each shot (called "heeling"). That is the other factor often causing high shots. It sounds like you are new to pistol shooting, and a lot of these things will go away with more trigger time, so make sure you get it!!!

If your looking for a nice 9mm I have a springfield xd service size...i love it its fun I also shoot a sig which is pretty bad ass p226r in .40
