I have read a lot of posts regarding questions on leg workoouts lately. Bottom line is that as long as squats are incorporated in your workout and assuming you do them correctly you are on your way. Its all about trial and error.
Here is my workout that I started 2 months ago. I have very long legs. I am 6' so all you tall dudes will appreciate this.
Basically I dedicate 1 leg workout to squatting only then the following week I do Leg Press/ Hack Squat and lunges.
Squat only day:
warmup 20 reps w/ 135( 1 45lb a side )
1st set 15 reps 225
2nd set 10 reps 315
3rd set 5 reps 405
4th set 10reps 315
5th set 20 reps 225
thats it. However every single rep is at least parallel except the last set which is ass to the calves. Good luck walking
next week.
Leg press( one leg ) at a time
warmup
1st set 2 45's a side 20 reps
2nd set 3 45's a side 15 reps
3rd set 4 45's a side 12 reps
4th set 5 45's a side 10 reps
Hack squats
1st set 2 45's a side 15 reps
2nd set 3 45's a side 12 reps
3rd set 4 45's a side 10 reps
Dumbell Lunges
3 sets of a wieght difficult for 10 reps
again, good luck walking.
My legs feel and look better than ever, not to mention the fact that they are getting stronger every workout. By the way I do hams on back day.
