Punch Is Back After Hernia Operation

Just started back in the gym after my second hernia operation. It was the congenital kind which is from birth. Was squatting 450 one day and felt a little tug in the groin and low and behold a little egg shaped lump appeared in the pubes. Of course I trained hard for a month until I got operated on at which point the egg turned into a kiwi. I had an outpatient surgery performed so was back home that day. My package increased in girth quite impressively which my wife found rather repulsive. Other than that, healed nicely.

Surprisingly, my bench did not get out of tune that badly got 225 for 15 reps and 275 for 6. My guess is about a month before back to normal. Squats however are tough simply from a psychological aspect, after all that was the catalyst for the last hernia. No worries though, currently 192 lb looking to get back to 205. Will be trying to enter some type of competition within a year.

punch-- how long did you take off??? had surgery last Fri & Dr said two wks minimum from heavy lifting!!

I just did light cardio yesterday & felt good..

I waited 4 weeks to make sure. Did light dbls. I am about 70% right now which is fine w/ me. Its amazing how much you rely on your abdominals. Surgery in that area really effects all your lifts.
