I used to do 3 sets everyday before my workout just to get warmed up and started.. On back day strapped a 45 on and killed it for 10-15reps for 3 sets.. Got up to 32 pullups for a record at 175lbs (fully extended).. My back was beast and loved it... Then got married had a little guy and lost it in 4 yrs.. Finally back and working on my pullups twice a week.. Progression is slow but keeping at it.. Love pullups!!
I love pull ups! Im still small lol, but that def. have done alot for my bi's/back lol, I've progressed from like 2 pullups and 3 chins (half extended) to like 15-16 chins and 12 pullups fully extended, going to start going weighted 5x5 now i rekon, take it nice and slow with the weight and progress. What do you guys think would be a good chinup:bodyweight in terms of like a 1RM weighted one. I weigh 150lb atm.. working on it![]()
Is there any way to engage your accessory muscles more during these exercises? I'm sure if my bisceps actually did something in pull ups/rows i could add another 5-10 kg immediately.
Should I do some warm up biscep sets before doing pull ups/rows?
