Pull-up grip question.

When doing pullups, I've noticed the slightest variation can have a great impact on where your targeting. Specifically, when we do pullups, we do them on the knurled bar part of a squat cage. The bar is straight. No bends at all. However I see alot of people doing them on the types of bars that have the two bent or angled ends on them. Any difference?

like you said, the slightest varation makes the diff, depends what part of your back you want to work...try wide grips if youre trying to hit the delts hard, a closer grip pulls it in a little.

I understand that, but its really not what I'm asking. I'm curious to if I had the same grip spacing, the angled bar is different than the straight bar.

EW,

I think (I'll get corrected if I'm wrong and that's good), it has more to do with taking stress off the wrists, and shoulders with the bent grips which allows for better form rather than wasting energy on compensating for an awkward body position.

I would suggest the bent grip myself.

the straight bar gives you a better lat stretch on the bottom. i think it's much better than an angled lat pull downbar.

but you should change your bar up every now and then like your grip spacing.
