Protein Brownies

Hi,

Well two nights ago my husband wanted something sweet to eat. I made a vow that I will not put anything in my mouth that doesn't have a substantial amount of protein. Well, I had a box of low fat brownie mix(generic store brand), the kind of mix that you only add water to. So anyway I poured out the mix. I used my protein powder scoop and scooped out 4 big scoops of brownie mix. I then added 5 scoops of protein poweder. I added 3/4 to 1 cup of water and baked for 22 min. in muffin tins. Each scoop of protein has 27+ grams of protein. The recipe made 12 muffins so that's 11g of protein per muffin. They were pretty good and got the job done! As far as carbs and sugar, well that all depends on the brownie mix and your protein powder. Hope you find this usefull one day!:)

Yum!, I havent had brownies in years. A couple of these would be awesome postworkout, they probably wont like me eating these at the gym in front of all the cardio machines tho, lol.

Excellent recipe!

Dude,
That was an awesome recipe. I'll give it a try! I need to add about 10 pounds of muscle to my frame.

Holy cow......

Just found a new favorite bulk food.
BTW......what type/brand of protein power was it ???

Thanks i will have to try that myself.
I use to add protein powder to pudding.
These are great ways to get protein to some kids who are fussy eaters.

I never thought of doing that!!

When I was a kid, I hated meat. I was just turned off by the taste and texture and my mom tried everything to get enough protein into me.

My 2 year old is the same way to an extent. Doesn't eat much meat, doesn't eat eggs... But loves chocolate! I'll bake up a bunch of these and the kid will have plenty of protein. He does like the Protein shakes as long as I "prepare" them right!

Agree....been working on a protien bar cookie recipe myself have not perfected it yet, but an close I want a good taste with out the blandness and packed full of protien 20-35+ grams is the goal.

Sounds great, but protein is denatured at high temps, unless using Optima's Any Whey, so there is a possibility you are wasting good protein powder. Just a thought.
