Project Help - Weight Calculator Question

Hello all,

I am a student working on a project in my Marketing on the Internet course. We have completed an application for use during your workout to help figure out the number and type of weights needed for a specific amount of weight you want to lift. We are looking to get peoples opinion of the application and any changes/improvements that could be made. It is a free application and can be downloaded on Google Play and iTunes. Additionally, you can visit the websites below for more information about the app. Thanks so much and we look forward to hearing your comments and advice.

Ok I checked it out just out of curiosity. I see it as a good tool for inexperienced lifters to use for a quick reference. Experienced lifters like myself won't have any use for this. From years of lifting I already know how to count by 45's, and 100 lb plates. Another thing is this thing only goes up to 400 lbs. if we were to use this, what are we supposed to use after warming up. He'll on squats And dl I don't even start my work sets until I get around 550+. That scale barely covers my speed sets. If you want it to be use full to an advanced lifter raise the scale to 800-1000. Add in 100lb plates and different size bars. A comp sq bar weighs 65lbs. The most important thing to add is percentages. A lot of lifters use percentages so it would be useful to have a section where you could type in a weight and get percentages for it. If I think of anything else ill add it.

I never even imagined someone would need a computer program to figure out what plates to put on the bar. :)

Honestly, I doubt that many people would be interested in this.

I agree with joeblow that if you are going to make an app you may as well make it more universal, but if you drove around the country checking out people in gyms, you wouldn't see too many 65 pound bars or bars loaded with 1000 lbs. And if you did find that 1000 pounder, that guy doesn't need a calculator!

but as far as programming goes, adding that flexibility into the program is simple.
