Powerlifting: 2 federations (tested and non) same rules, same gear

What do you mean. I have not noticed that the rules or gear changes between the differnet divisions.
But the thing that really pisses me off is when they do not test the tested divison. I have seen in a few cases that guys who are well known in this sport ( Big Names, 1000lb squat and 700lb bench) and not well known but obviouse ,enter the tested division. Maybe they have not been on for the past 6 months but cmon', who the hell are they kidding. And the promotors just let it fly. I know it is expensive to test and that not all tested division entries should be tested but for the integrity of the sport/division records things need to change.
I'm not ranting here...Much.... but i do not use them or havn't in a long time, and i still compete in the non-tested division and get my ass handed to me simply for the fact that there are more people competing in this divison.

Maybe the WPO will bring about somewhat of a "unified" world champion and set records.

The tested and non-tested seems kinda touchy subject though.

Thats why I dig the idea of non-sanctoned meets. Just a bring-what-you-got atmosphere. Still I hear alot of "oh, this person or that person wouldnt have beat me if he hadnt been using yada yada yada...."

Does O-lifting have any of these same issues? Or if they did, how did they get past them?

I feel your pain Heavy...:D

To me a tested division means not that it is a natural division.. but you just havent been on for a while or not at that time..

I am natty and would never compete in a tested division..why??

Because I would rather take 2nd 3rd or 4th to somebody who I know is most likely on then take the same to somebody who wasnt tested in a natty division that put up some "incriminating" numbers---or in other words a guy who is in the tested division whom I suspicion is on and doesnt get tested and I probably could have beaten on an even playing field.. Iguess that is the way my psyche works..keeps me from making excuses..

But I am getting to the age where PR's are getting a lot more difficult to come by and will start supplementing soon.. but I do know anybody that beat me by 150 lb total or less (in a untested division who is probably on) is going to get their ass royally kicked when I see them again someday onthe same field...

You are wishing for a powerlifting Utopia which will never be..no matter what your choice is on or off, if you cant run with the big dogs, gotta stay on the porch ( just a saying..no offense intended)

The problem is nobody agrees on the rules. If Joe Blow wants to use quadruple layered bench shirts and wrap duct tape around his shoulders and the federation doesn't allow it, then he can just go make his own federation. This has been going on for years in PL.
