Following the thread 'THIS BOARD recently....'
I must put in my .02
This is actually the first and only fitness board that I belong to; however, over the years, I have been a member to many other automobile related board and so fourth.
First off, I must say, this is by far one of the most informative boards there is. A lot of boards out there, you see a newby asking a question, and majority of the answers are 'do a search, it's been covered before'.
I am a person that do not really know how to do a good search. My questions are very general, before I post anything, I go over the past few day's thread to see if it has been covered, if not, I will put up a thread asking the questions I have in mind. I have tried plenty of times searching. The problem with this particular board is that it's a big community; with that in mind, doing a search, sometimes brings up 10 or more pages of results. As of right now, I do not have a desk job, so I am unable to sit a surf the board all day long to find what I need.
This is a public board, people join the board with questions in mind. I am pretty sure most of you signed on for the same reason. For those that has been a member for a while, you are bound to see the same questions asked over and over again. I think to prevent this, the only way is to not let new members register, but then, what's the point of the board?
Most of the time, people that surfs here pretty much should have a good idea on what's been covered and what's not, which thread it was under, and etc. I think the time some people take to type in 'do a search', it would have actually been more informative to just link a thread that you know that's covered the same subject.
Thanks all for such a awsome board.
Above was just my .02
