Just thought people share how much they spend and on what. Managing your money is important in bodybuilding. I realized that i was wasting so much money on crap. All you need is a good whey protein, flax/anpb/cocunut oil, complex and hi gi carbs, multivitamin and multimineral, and a herbal sweetener for your shakes and oatmeal.
Recently i switched over to just using unflavored jarrow formulas whey protein concentrate, which is really cheap and actaully healthier. $13 for 2 pounds at vitacost.com!!!!! I flavor it with cherry stevia drink mix from steviasmart.com or berry or kiwi or mango flavor powder from naturesflavors.com post-workout since it has dextrose. This makes protein extremely cheap, really good tasting, and simple. The jarrow formulas whey has a bland taste so you can mix it with any flavor you want including banana, blueberry, cherry, papaya, just to name a few from that site.
Buying ON's whey gold is a waste of money. First of all they have artificial sweeteners. Then hydrolyzed whey and fructose. Which all sucks. And the taste is horrible. I can't get down the natural ON whey or the regular in any flavor and it is supposedly the "best" protein for you money. Same with muscle milk not to mention way too expensive for no reason. Look below. For not only a cost-effective solution, but actually a 10 times more healthy and tastier protein solution.
