Post-workout meal with cardio after weights?

HumanShell

O.K. everyone. On days that I lift weights, I tend to do my cardio after lifting, so that I have more energy to lift with. On days that I do cardio only, I wait at least an hour to eat my meal, so that I can have some time for fat burning.

My question, on days that I lift, should I have a post-workout shake right after lifting, then proceed to do my cardio? Should I lift, do cardio, then wait an hour and have a PWS? Or, should I move my cardio to before lifting, then lift, and have a PWS? My lifting is not exhaustive, I'm just trying to preserve muscle while loosing fat. I want to get the maximum fat burning going on, so I'm just looking for some opinions/fact/experience.

After typing it out and reading it, it looks like I should move my cardio before lifting, lift, then have my PW meal/shake. Thanks for any comments you have. I lift on Mon/Wed/Fri.

If i were you I would weight train, then do cardio that way you have already depleted your glycogen stores and then you start burning fat,I would do intense cardio for 20-30 min,I mean push yourself and then when done i would eat or drink some clean carbs+protein.Your metabolism is going to be jacked up all day from doing this so so if your trying to get rid of bodyfat this will do the trick, remember to take in less calories than you burn=LESS BODYFAT,and try to get most of your carbs from clean sources such as brown rice,oats,100%wholewheat.etc.this way your insulin is not flying through the roof every 2-3 hours it should remain stabilized for fat burning, hope i could help some:D

i dont know, muscleup? take in less calories than you burn? by doing that, your body will store the fat that it already has. HShell, how many calories do you take in a day?

ultimatly u have to take in less calories than u burn to reduce bodyfat, unless ur on a kd, tho i think u still have to take in less or maintain

sure, you'll reduce body fat, but you'll become catabolic at the same time... and who wants to do that?

Well there has to be a deficit made somewhere to drop bodyfat%,you can up your protein or better yet ad some A.S,to help with the muscle break down but ,something has to give somewhere.:D
