Posing....

Everyone wants to know..., "What diet protocol should I do?, What should I change with my training?, How much cardio?, What drug protocol is best?, How do I deplete/load come show time?" No one wants to talk about the most overlooked aspect of competing in a bodybuilding show..., POSING!

So here we go bros. Am I the only one that is SICK and TIRED of bodybuilders NOT putting forth any effort in their posing? I am not talking about pros. I am talking about what you see when you go to most regional shows and you even see it at the bigger shows like Jr. Nationals. Why would you go though weeks and weeks of hard dieting, years of hard training, and then get on stage and pose so badly you make people in the crowd feel "embarrassed" for you?

Even the guys who know how to do their mandatory poses quite well fall flat on their face when it comes time for their individual routine. When you watch posing routines from the golden age of bodybuilding (see: Ed Corney) it is almost like watching a sculpture come to life. Nowadays almost all posing routines look the same. Of course there are bright spots here and there, but back then bodybuilders took their physique presentation SERIOUSLY. Like Arnold and Franco taking ballet classes so that they could incorporate ballet's gracefulness into their transitions. Who today takes their posing THAT serious?

Posing practice is also underutilized during most peoples prep. Regular posing has a tremendous effect on the way you will look show day. It WILL make you harder, more defined and can even help improve your separation. Regular practice will also allow your body to become COMFORTABLE in each individual pose so that you can avoid "shaking" during the pose. The more you practice, the more accustomed your body will become to it, and the more natural it will look on stage when you do pose.

For those here with competitive experience, lets post up our advice on how to improve the posing seen today. For starters, I will post up a link to a decent dvd for those still struggling with their mandatory poses and their transitions.

Muscle Pose - Perfect Posing™ - Posing for Bodybuilding and Fitness Figure and more!

Lets get some questions out there as well for all of the veterans to answer. I will start.

-How soon should you start practicing your posing before show date?
-How often/long should you practice your posing?
-How far out should you KNOW your individual routine?
