Pondering which gym to join....

Well I'm getting too strong for my home weights, and I need some equipment I'll never ever buy, so its time to join a gym!

I have 2 choices

1) A spiffy new 5 star Class hotel quality GYM. Its HUGE! Sparkling and immaculate. Nice heated 25 m pool, lots of cardio gear, stretch room with swiss balls. Good machine selection, enough dumbless and plates, a few squat racks. Looks good, lots of nice babes in it, as its in the main suburban shoping area. Close to my House. Nice vibe - bright and sunny.
Pretty expensive - $50USD Joining fee and $37USD a month thereafter.

2) Darker and with a big warehouse vibe, a lot quieter due to its location. A bit further from my house. Lots of gear, a hell a lot more freeweight facilities. Plenty of machine. Classic pics of 70s and 80s bodybuilders adorn the walls. Music playing. A lot older looking the stuff in it. Didn't see any hot babes :(
Didn't quite like the vibe, bit too dark and the roof too high for my tastes
Much cheaper though - $7 USD joining fee (special) and $25USD per month.

SO which should I choose?!
I wouldn't mind meeting a nice girl who works out as well, thought maybe I have a better chance the 1st gym ;)

I would puke if I had to workout in choice #1 more than a week...if they didn't throw me out first.

I'd say number two, definitely. You may be looking for a hot babe, but you are also there to work out. Plus...if you work out in the more hardcore gym, you might just find you a more hardcore chick...if that is what you are into, of course.

I work out in a gym that has high ceilings and it's not too bad. I don't like all the machines, though....and I don't like the cardio crap either. It is the least prissy of all the gyms in town, though. I have crappy luck. lol.

I used to work out at a hardcore gym. 70% of the people there were bodybuilders or powerlifters. The equipment was top notch, lots and lots of free weights, even 200 lb dumbells. It was cheap too, only 25 bucks a month.

I moved, so now I go to one of those upscale gyms. Its expensive, and the free weights are limited. But between 4-7pm there is more hot ass per square foot in that gym, then any other place on the planet. I'm not kidding you, EVERY chick in there is a babe.

I might get distracted a bit more, and have to wait longer to use the equipment, but for a horn dog like me, its worth it.

Well I just signed up at the "hardcore" gym. Well I wouldn't call it hardcore, but the setup is more like that. Didn't see any bodybuilders there when I took my free trial workout there. Think I was the biggest guy there, and that's not saying a lot :)

Well as much as I like the vibe and setting of the Babes Gym, I just couldn't imagine myself doing Jump Snatches, Power cleans and plyos there! :)

The 2nd gym is cool since the Power rack is right next to the slightly rubber padded aerobics room, so I can do a set of heavy squats and hop into the aerobics room and do some plyos straight after (complex training) like I have been doing at home. And there are lots of heavy duty boxes around to do bounds and stepups etc. Plus I saw a very trim female doing medicine ball plyos there with a personal trainer so I know I'm in the right place :)

The owner said very few people use the power rack (3 of em there) so I can use it without waiting. Ahh people hate squats...

Yes I'm a horndog as well - but this time my goals of a freakish vertical and sprint power have to come first :D

There used to be a gym that had the best features of the above 2 gyms, but alas they went broke and are no more :(
Hence the reason why I started training at home. But now its time to get back into the system.

Good choice.

I go to the Y myself, lots of old people, but not alot of hardcore people to get mad and laugh at my 135lb bench and 25lb curls. (Newbie)

do you lift for strength and size, or ambience? my gym sounds like choice number one. too many fucking cardio things. too many old people. too many people that dont lift. i hate it. but hey, theres music and its air conditioned in the summer.

If you are unfortunate enough to have to work out at a chrome palace, be sure to stay as far away from the steppers and exercycles as you can. I have theory that these machines turn testosterone into estrogen. I can' t prove it yet, but I am awaiting the government grant for the research money.

Just be aware.

And B-fold, I doubt there are many commercial gyms that could hold you. Home gyms, cellars, garages, wharehouses, no mirrors, rusty equipment, chains, jumpstretch bands, chuck taylor's , excuse me, I am getting a bit misty.

Damn Swiss balls....

Good Choice... I picked kinda in the Middle.

Y's typically have a few Hardcores so the Equip is there
There are enough Hotties to look at between sets to make me happy.
There are a few Fatties to make me look like Mr. O'
