It's a poll that's been done before, but we have new members now, and I've noticed a lot of people's interest in 5x5 lately. If people don't wanna deal with another one of these then by all means scratch it, but if you don't mind...vote and let's hear what you've all had the best results with in terms of mass and size gains!

i'm new here and am looking to get into serious weight training can you just clarify those programs and their abbreviations or direct to somewhere that can. thanx

My own variation of 5x5 has brought me nice size in the past. Once I start bulking again (CANT WAIT), I'll probably switch to a 1 bodypart / 2x week program

From personal experience=

Max OT brought best gains and strength
HST was just below in terms of results
5x5, just finished 7th week, strength up in all lifts yet joints are trashed.

ALL WORK!

Haha, wow - that was an old post. I can't even remember to tell you the truth.

I stick with 1 bodypart a week, but hitting my lagging bodyparts twice. Over the years, I have found this to be the best routine to work for me (and I've done a bunch, including that waste of time DC Training).

hey whats max OT? could u explain

well

1.) 5x5 is a strength oriented program. with a good diet u can gain a lot of mass.

2.) DC training leads to a LOT of sacroplasmic hypertrophy therefore the best program to gain muscle the fastest way is DC. but it not a long term plan for sure.

3 sets of Triple Drop reps.. 1x5 (heavy), 1x10 (1/2 of 5rep weight), 1x20 (1/2 of 10rep weight).............
Take 10-20sec rest between each rep range.

Awesome for the 4 keys of hypertrophy: volume, tut, intesity and heavy weight. Triple drop sets inclue of all of this...

When I put on a lot of my size after a few months of getting into it I did 5x5 but not the one on this site. Just did all my compound lifts 5 sets 5 reps as much weight as i could handle maintaining form then i hit the machines for a more time under tension thing and just do slow controlled movements with good contractions throughout the movement. I blew up lol

I've never gained as much mass as I have on a 5x5 style program. When I was doing bodybuilding type workouts it took me over two months to gain 10 lbs. On the 5x5, less then a month.

Eat your ass off on a proper program and you will grow, big time.

What is DC training, I am doing the 5x5 on every exercise I do for my PULL, PUSH , and LEG days, and I have gained like 10lbs over a few months, but my arms do not seem as big as I thought they would get after three months of 5x5. I do curls 5x5 style too, and not sure what is wrong or why I am not growing as much ??

Cal I currently do 1 bodypart a week as well and it has worked wonders for me. You are gunna do the same thing but hit each bodypart twice? Im interested in that too whats your split going to look like?

Anyone checked Vince Delmonte's work out program? It is doing good so far with me. And I saw good reviews about it in the internet.

A standard bodybuilding split 4-5 days a week, splitting bodyparts up as much as possible is the way to go if mass and muscle size is the goal!
