pointers/help with the 5x5 program

started this program saturday
after a warm- up i did 5x5 on bodyweight benchesdid 145#'s
then yesterday after a good warm-up i did 5x5 on deadlifts. did 160#'s
today i do squats. then i will rest a day then repeat, doing 3 on 1 off.
question 1)
after doing chest in the morning, will doing pushups in the pm be too much. i like doing pushups, and entering pushup contests, so i was wondering if this is ok. 100-400 is what i'll do. up to 20 minutes of these.
then after deadlifts in the morning, is it ok to do pullups in the evening? do 100-150 of these sets of 10-20. i like this exercise too.
then on squat day, do those in the morning, and is doing a bunch of abs in the evening ok?
also, i weigh 145-150max. i had a best of 365 on the deadlift, but that was long ago. 30 years ago. now when i do these i use bodyweight. i slipped something in my back years ago, and when i use 200#'s i sometimes feel my back slips. then its hard to walk for a week.
so i was wondering if after i did 5x5 on deads with a bodyweight weight, or just a bit more than bodyweight, is it ok do do dumbell rows? this dosent hurt my back.
i'm an endurance athlete finally making a switch to weights, but have been doing lots of dips pushups pullups hang cleans 40 years..
anything else i should do?
5x5 on deadlifts benches and squats. is this all?
thanks alot for help
goal is to pack on a few pounds. diets perfect as was taking in 4-5000 calories a day these past 30 years cycling 4 hours some training days along with 2 hour workouts and 1 hour workouts.
and rest is key which i get plenty of.
thanks again

You should definately keep working on buiding the deadlifts. Even if its bodyweight slowly add the weight according to the 5x5 calculator. This routine really works well and you can modify however you like. Initially in the 5x5 your weights will seem really easy so the extra pushups/pullups will seem no problem. The later part of the routine tends to become more taxing so you might find the addition of the pushups and pullups on top of the 5x5 may have adverse effects on what your trying to achieve. Good luck. Rest alot and eat well, lastly patience with this routine intially.
