well, i think it's time for me to finally ask a question here...I hope I don't get flamed. I am a college student and have been lifting for quite some time (since about 16 years old) I am 22 now. since december, i have been eating pretty much anything i came across, and found that i was lifting much heavier. But my belly was not looking so good. Recently i have been taking ripped fuel to supress my appeitite to attempt one last try at a six pack. Now that I am eating less, i just feel like im losing size and energy. I have been looking on different boards for quite some time for suggestions, but it seems i just get more and more confused. I'm not sure what I should be eating, drinking or what. It seems the more i read, the more confused i get! for example, today i had a protein shake, a salad with low fat ranch, a carnation instant breakfast with skim milk, some carrots, and a piece of pizza. I weigh 170 and i'm 5'10. I don't want to lose size, but i want a nice stomach. I feel like i have some type of complex disorder! sorry so long, but i finally just had to get this out. any direction is so much appreciated!

ditch all simple carb sources.. that means no sugars and no white bread/ white flour products. Keep the protein high, the complex carbs will keep your blood glucose levels more steady throughout the day and the protein will ensure your muscles have plenty of fuel for repair. Also throw in some EFA's to your regimine.

EFA = essential fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6, linolenic/linoleic/arachidonic). Usually you'll see them as monounsaturated, or polyunsaturated under fats on a food label. Peanuts, fish, flax seed are great sources of fat (nuts basically). If you wanna lose weight, don't eat less, eating less will cause your metabolism to shut down to conserve energy. (when I say less I mean significantly less, a small caloric deficit should be fine) If you really wanna lose that weight though, you should try a CKD. Dude, I'm 5'7 at 185 lbs :).

Water helps everything :)
Hmm depends when you sleep really. Don't eat before you go to sleep...try to keep 2 hours between your sleep and your last meal. Basically what you've eaten will be stored as fat (since you spend less energy unconcious than concious).
