You probably wondering what do they have in common. Well... they both must be well taken care of to stick around for a very long time. I have found that when I'm constantly in the face of my clients with tips via email, handouts, website support , awesome training sessions, birthday wishes, holiday wishes...etc they essentially "fall in love with me". Just like your lover you have to create a relationship that is built on trust.
Some Personal Trainers make the mistake of not building this relationship and often find their clients are not loyal clients and they do not refer others. I write a lot about this over at my Fitness Marketing Blog. I believe the key to client retention is building relationships.
