Partial Thickness Articular Tear Supraspinatus

I just received the write up on my right shoulder and need some help translating it. Of course my doctor said see a specialist and my radiologist im not allowed to talk to he just writes the report for my doctor which sends me to someone else. . . Id appreciate any help and guidance - a recommended course of auction.

There is unchanged moderate osteoarthritis of the right acromioclavicular joint. There is very small amount of fluid within the subdeltoid/subacromial bursa. There is a slight worsening supraspinatus tendinosis. There is a new low grade partial thickness articular sided tear of the supraspinatus tendon. The infraspinatus tendon demonstrates very low grade bursal surface irregularity, which appears new since the prior study. There is intra-articular biceps tendinosis. The subscapularis tendon and teres minor tendon are unremarkable. There is non specific cystic change of the superior posterolateral humeral head. The labrum is not well visualized due to the paucity of glenohumeral joint fluid. No significant muscle atrophy is seen. There is no acute fracture of disolocation.

Thanks in advance,

You have a rotator cuff injury and should see an orthopedic surgeon.

The rotator cuff muscles are the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis. Tendinosis is an inflamed or damaged tendon. Sometimes you can also have tendonous calcinosis if it's gone on for a while.

Regardless, you should not work out until you see an orthopedic surgeon.
