They basically sell you the website and do EVERYTHING involved with running it. They deal with all sales and everything. All you have to do is promote it. If the advertising was right, could this be a successful side job? They pay 50% on every membership for every month. Anyone have good experience with this or am i wasting my time? thanks

If you're not willing to put in all this extra money in it also -- you'll get nowhere. $300 is just the start.
Not to mention: Most adult sites are spawned off as 25 to 50 sites with different urls. Easier to get into search rankings.
Do some research bro. There's a adult webmaster's board/forum somewhere -- i forget the name of it. Maybe someone has it handy. It's like : www.getfucked.com or something crass like that.
btw: 90% of adult websites only get like 200 hits a month. They don't tell you those stats.
If you wanna throw a few hundred in to test it and learn the blind way -- go ahead.
If you want to make money, you should do the same thing they're doing. Sell off "your" site to others for $200.

ohh yea, i know they bullshit alot. thats just part of the business. i dont expect to make 100k a year off this shit. if i made 15k a year i would be very pleased. it was just a little side job i was looking into. i already work 2 jobs so this would just be alittle extra income for me.

Those are considered investment capital, expertise and time that is usually out of the hands of most simpletons.

Someone mentioned a 1:1000 conversion ratio(conversion is a sale of a membership) This, last I checked, is actually a ratio that was hard to attain, even with niche marketing. I have heard of people doing 1:250 on Gallery Posts, but that ratio is insane. Even if you were to obtain 1:1000, at 40 a membership(pricey one, good luck selling that), that is only twenty bucks for you. Now, you say that sounds great......but do you know how much effort goes into generating 1000 hits, let along 1000 niche or targeted hits? Targeted/niche traffic is what you would need to even get that 1:1000 ratio, if all else is good.

Steer away from the $$/month type membership deal. That's so passe.
Develop your own, and start investing in technology that allows you to pay per view. Similar to peep shows or video on demand. Sell videos online for viewing for $2.00/pop. Have thousands of clips. Create commission structures with authors of those videos -- in exchange for them directing traffic to you.
Stuff like that. Similar to how music is currently being sold online. 99c/song.
I sure as hell ain' forking out $20/month on some stupid membershp thing. But i may want to pay one-time $2.00 to view some hot piece of ass staring at me. What's 2 bucks? For you -- those 2 bucks add-up.

So what's stopping someone here from doing all the homework (hosting site, paid content, setup billing, cc, info, etc.) and asking us to pitch in $$xx to help start it?
