OUCH! Worst gym injury!

So tonight at the gym, I completely smashed my finger between some metal and a big weight. Not good. It's completely swollen, black and blue, and very very painful! I just wanted to kick myself for doing something so stupid! But it got me thinking, besides SERIOUS injuries, what's the most painful/stupid gym injury you've had?

I dropped a 20 kg/45 lb plate directly onto the top of my foot.

I was in contest prep, hungry, sleep deprived and had just worked 12 hours in hospital.

It would still hurt with bending for nearly two months.

Couple of trips no one noticed, almost whacked a guy in the head with 15pnd dumbbells (his own fault) really nothing embarrising, like bikinimom I'm a bit of a klutz so I have gotten off easy... for now....

God, lots of it!
I banged my head on the cable bar when coming up.
I squished my finger between two 40# DB when I was putting it back on the rack.
Hit my face with a jumping rope while jumping.

I could go on. I've been training for 22 years.

Ouch!!! I'm hoping this got my clumsiness out of my system (a girl can dream, right???). My nail is still on...but my finger is completely black. I'm most concerned about how long it will be before I'm able to grip a weight!!!

I would say, "Man up" LOL but that would be an oxymoron, wouldn't it? :lmao:

I've trained with stitches (not smart) and barely healed incisions (even more not smart), wearing a brace from tendonitis (no biggie) on my way home from the hospital after nearly bleeding out (WAY THTOOPID)....

I haven't done anything like that in YEARS. As I've gotten older, I've gotten smarter... or just plain OLD hehehehehe

BM, on your way from the hospital after bleeding out? goodness, you're tough!

Lol! I'm familiar with the getting older feeling. I'm currently training with tendonitis on both elbows and a herniated dick on my lower back (lombard), which I keep re-injuring by the continuing use. Oh, well!

Nope, I'm not tough... I'm juth THTUBBORN and THTOOPID!

After having my 4th child in 5 years I would wake to nurse the baby for her 5AM feeding, eat my own eggs and oatmeal while I held and fed her, change her, put her back down to sleep, get to the gym to train then be home to nurse her again by 7AM because there was NO WAY IN HELL I was going to *allow* my body to *accept* the "damages of motherhood."

... but that was when I wore a much younger skin. LOL

I had a bone density scan several months back and the doc said that I didn't have osteoperosis... YET but my bones are not nearly as dense as they should be for a woman my age, especially my pelvis and lower back. So in addition to all the supplements I must take, I take tremendous care now with my choice of activity, weight and movements... last thing I need is stress fractures or serious injury to my back or hips.

Yup, doing all that dumbshit back in the day has REALLY taught me well. :)

I am thtubborn and thtoopid too, btw! I have osteopenia and I train like an animal. We're insane!!

Tore lower back ligament .. doing heavy heavy squats and some @#$%^& guy comes up and decides to poke my side to say "hiiii!"....!!!!!!!
other than that i snapped an acrylic nail one time and it went flying about 2 metres..
