Here's the deal. On another forum a guy posted about how "LARGE" his 16 inch calves are. I told him 1) quit bragging 2) quit seeking male validation and 3) that they are nothing special and he basically freaked, attacking me and saying his calves are even bigger than 16 inches now. I told him he should see what people with truly impressive calves think and to put his original post in a weight lifting forum, but he has never done so, although he continues to defend his mighty 16 inch calves.

The original post is below. Please feel free to share your opinion.

Title: LARGE Calves

"I'm 5'11" 175lb, athletic body type with naturally large calves. They're 16 friggin inches of like pure muscle. It's genetics and I'm trying to work my shoulders and forearms to look proportional. I like the fact I don't have wimpy chicken legs, but how can I slim down my calves?

Running/jumping/calf raises add weight and resistance to your legs which'll make them even bigger sooo....what, do I need to do yoga and pilates in order to make them toner?"

I'm 5'4" 185lbs and my calves are 16.5"of pure sculpted muscle lol Mine are still small in my opinion. He doesn't need to worry about making his calves smaller...He needs to eat more to make the rest of his body grow match his monster calves :)

I have always had calve development problems but mine are currently 19 1/2" just from heavy squatting and dealifting, I am 300 lbs though.

It depends on the guy. As far as BIG,,no,,,but muscularity,,,,YES!!! On a guy your size...5'11 175lbs they could look very impressive.
I have a friend who has the best calves Ive seen as far as shape,,cuts,,detail and they
are slightly under 17"

No. It could be genetic, or age, because mine were chicken skinny most of my life, until I became a fat middle aged adult.
