open borders with mexico?

recently the president of mexico, i 4got his name, but Mr. Mexico visted the United States. He is going through talks about open borders with the U.S. A bill has even been proposed.

How would u feel about opening the U.S. borders to our Mexican brothers & sisters?

This bill would also make 3 million illegal aliens U.S. citizens. Does this send a message of awarding people for breaking the law?
 
The only crime that "illegal" aliens have committed is sneaking across the Mexican-American border in search of a better life through honest work. You don't see Americans trying to sneak into Mexico, do you? There's probably a good reason for that.

I'm sure illegal Mexicans are responsible for most of the country's crime, eh? Wouldn't they be deported back to Mexico? If there are so many illegal Mexican criminals in the U.S., then they would have all been deported, and we certainly wouldn't have 3 million Mexican criminals in the States, right?

If you ask me, I'd be willing to wager that most of our country's crime is committed by legal U.S. citizens who are ungrateful for what they have.

Let's send them to Mexico and allow more immigrants to come and replace them. We'll have a boosted economy, stronger workforce, and less crime.

I should run for fucking Empero.. errrr President.

no1 waS mentioning crime, but while on the subject....every1 of these aliens is a criminaL. they know it's against the law. we have enuff domestic problems on our hand.

i am going to take a wild stab, in the dark....and say that more than 90% of these immigrants dont speak ingles. when they cant get a job....that develops into crimes & gang activity. maybe when mexcio gets its shit straight.

Banking laws in these countries have their attractive qualities and make it tempting and worth while for American companies to take advantage.

Corporate lobbyists promote NAFTA and other similar immigration policies only to expand their tentacles into neighboring countries and maximizing their profits.

In reality the rise in illegal immigration into the United States does not threaten or hamper America's progress. Many researches have found immigrants to be beneficial to our economy by fulfilling menial jobs and often stimulating the economy by creating personal businesses.

The influx in legal/illegal immigration is an extension of NAFTA and other trade agreements. Once the border disappears immigration will become a bargaining tool for the Mexican government in allowing American Companies carte blanch within their territories.

Mexicans as well as most immigrants are hard working people and I understand their need to seek out a better living for themselves and their families. I welcome those who are willing to sacrifice so much in order to better their lives.

Are you of EUROPEAN DECENT CHICAGODOGROW? A long time ago during the ellis island immigration days people were saying the same thing about the IRISH,ITALIAN,JEWISH, HUNGARIAN,AND a lot of other groups.They were given the chance to come over and make a life for themselves so WHY would you not give the MEXICANS the chance to do the same?If things went the way you want it now back then YOU might not be here right now! Illegal Alliens are not Putting more money into this country then they are using. Consider this

How many "Alliens" are actually paying into City, State, or Federal Taxes. Then consider Cities like Dallas Texas where the majority of people within the City limits are Hispanic and an estimated 20-30% are illegal Alliens. The Dallas INS has only 1 or 2k people working there. You really think they are going to be able to deport 20-30% of the largest group of people in the city??

Now take that into consideration with the fact that fines for hiring illegal workers are very small, about a couple hundred bucks per worker. If you owned a business and could hire someone who's willing to work for less then min. wage wouldnt you hire them if you new you would make more money on them even if you risked a fine from the Govt if they are are caught? You wouldn't have to provide Health care or other benefits for them. Where do you think they are going to get their Healthcare???At the City hospital which to my knowledge does not make an effort to report those illegal alliens receiving medical coverage, which in turn is passed on to the tax payers once they default and dont pay up.

This is exactly how I was explained of how things go in Dallas....Now for the rest of the country I could only speculate that they face something similar.

If you want to come into this country you need to do it the right way....I have no sympathy for those who come illegal or try to and get caught, hurt, or die....

I support the idea of opening borders with Mexico, but As I'm sure Vincente Fox realizes he needs in to improve the Educational system in his country so his people can develop better skills and in turn with their economy inproving more jobs to remove the need to sneak into this country before opening the borders

San Diego has entire neighborhoods where no English is spoken - and if it is - it's because the yonger kids are learning it in school. National City, Chula Vista and Bario Logan / Logan Heights are the biggest ones.

For those of you who have never been south of the border.... here is the Reader's Digest version. Kids running around everywhere begging for money, cheap knock off items, taxi drivers that love to rip you off, all you drink bars, toothless hookers / prostitutes, a smell that can only be described as day old vomit.... and the list goes on.

Border Patrol is pretty much a joke - they do what they can but when you have 2,000 + a day getting over with fake papers - how much can you expect them to catch? So, it is a complete draw - they do spend a tremendous amount of thier untaxed money in the USA - but they also run across the border to have their kids and get free medical care.

So either seal up the border nice and tight and feel safe in you little "all white" world where everyone speaks English [that will never happen] or open the border completely and let it be a free for all [never happen].

It's a draw... so deal with it.
 
Most of them work and work hard, you know it! They have the jobs white americans rejected before... Look, America is a country of immigrants... Just because your family has been there for 100 years doesn´t make you a better american... Of course some wont fit in the society immediately! They come from a different world... But those are the minority...
 
how could america benefit from this? it would fuck us in the long and short run. mexicans would come pouring in cause their country is shit. mexicans think they are taking over the southwestern united states and that might make it a reality. it is their goal to populate those areas and pretty much take it over. thats the fuckin truth. we should use sharp shooters to keep them fuckers out.

If Mexicans that live in Mexico really wanted to better themselves then why do they not practice birth control. Please don't use the "religion" excuse either - because that is played out. If that were the case I would respect it - however - since most of the chicks I see runnnign around don't have a wedding ring on - I must assume that they are not married - thus breaking a commandment.

Get off your soap box. If you want to imrove things then why not move there and do some Peace Corp work? Donate money ... adopt a kid from Sally Struthers.

open up the mexican/U.S. border? what are you kidding me? the population of mexico would decrease to 0 within a year of the borders opening up. who would want to stay in poverty when the flourishing U.S. is just to the north? we'd have a massive influx of mexicans and not enough jobs for all of them. watch our poverty level sky rocket and then they'd be inundating our hospitals seeking free medical care and not paying taxes. wow what a great idea. and the careless breeding that goes in that society is crazy. as heartless as it sounds, china's policy of limiting the number of kids you are allowed to have is a great idea. i pay my taxes, i'm tired of supporting people who don't pay their taxes and crank out children left and right to collect more government cheese. but hey, life is not fair.

yes they do have a hard life south of the border, i'm not going to argue that and my heart goes out to them but the simple fact is that it maintains a balance in the world. life is not fair and not everyone is going to live well and prosper. some are more fortunate than others. a utopian society in which there is no suffering and no poverty is not going to happen.
 
I live in Texas, about 3 hours drive north of the border.
My car has been broken into 3 times.
I don't know about the third time, but the first time the guy was caught - Mexican immagrant.
I had to testify in court that he did not have my permission to be in my car.
His public defender tried to say I had given him permission.
Kind of hard, since he didn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish.
He was deported back to Mexico.

The second time the cops saw who did it, but didn't catch him - yup, latino. Mexican immigrant? I don't know.

You open the boarders, you open them to the theives as well as the good guys.
What's the point of deporting them back to Mexico, if they can walk right back in?

I notice all the people talking about opening the borders do so from a safe distance.
 
so if mexicans are getting special treatment, why cant other immigrants? my dad had to go through the process, when he came from Cuba. Plus, most Cubans come over with a good education. im not for that illegal shit unless every1 is allowed to break the law.

I worked with some illegal immigrants on my sheet metal job I had this summer. At first I was like "wow, that's really good they're working hard and trying to support themselves"

The more I stuck around, the more I realized how lazy and stupid those fuckers were. The foremen left early one day to go watch his kid graduate from kindergarten, and the motherfuckers picked up and left 10 min. later, when there was about 6hrs of work left.

I know this isn't true of ALL illegals, but that is my experience I've had.

I think we have enough stupid/lazy americans, why bring more into the country?

i guess you didnt know, but the cubans castro released were criminals, straight out of the prisons of cuba. they are guilty of all the crimes, to include murder and rape. thats why miami is SHIT today.

when people think miami, they think of the beach, south beach to be exact. and to visit, not to live in miami.
 
The whole south of the U.S was ours(from mexico)a long time ago,but what happen,a president fucked us up and lost the land in which many of you live. The mexicans that live there were there when the land was sold,and from then on many of our presidents of Mexico have done the same thing. The president before Vicente Fox left Mexico in one of the worst economy situations that it could be,now Vicente seems like a good president and thats what we hope it to be,(we will not know untill he is out) The opening of the borders will never happen,just think about it,a good idea he has is giving temporary permits to our people for them to work in the U.S help their families and help the States.the goverment is the main reason why Mexico is poor..........I have laugh at many of the comments a lot of you made here because you don't even have an idea of how much you all benefit from our people,just think for a second here if someone is working with false papers there is no real social security and they can not get their taxes back plus all the taxes they already paid every day,and the Gov't gets to keep the money. Of course there are criminals,there are criminals every where and there will alway be. The U.S has millions of maquiladoras(fabrics)in Mexico in which they do save billions of dollars each year,we all benefit from each other,business is business right...On the other hand many of you don't know our people,we are not dumb and that guy said it himself with out even know it in that post about the 10 min and been lazy and dumb,they did it because we are been abused and we know it and you know it ,so if they get a chance they'll take it and that's not been dumb,they took that brake right. What holds many of us back is not knowing the languges. On the children part about been over populated,sorry but it is the religion part of it ,catholism may be good in some ways but Mexico is too religious, is not the same as catholism in the U.S,Mexican religion has too many crazy ideas, I myself think that one of the reasons why the U.S is were it is may be because of cristianism ,and thats what I thinks helps the States the most,catholism is so religious that sometimes blinds people ........ And it is not only mexicans that cross by U.S/Mex border there are latinos from everywhere including cubans(lol),and if you really knew mexico and its beautys apart from the pollitical and economical part you will understand why every mexican in the states is not there for long.....I LOVE MEXICO AND ITS BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE those are my words but have heard something similar from amerian people in Mexico.........p.s I have to thank all those people here that are not even Mexicans and took the time to explain the facts to people that did not know shit,I don't even have to name them . While we are at it.... Lets make Puerto Rico a state so we can increase our welfare payroll... I do not have a problem with Mexicans coming here to make a better living..but do it the way the law is written.....do what you have to do to become a legal, taxpaying citizen... who pays for everytime an illegal goes to the hospital? And Im sure the price isn't cheap..... do it the right way and become an American citizen
 
my best friend is hispanic. his parents are from texas and there families(parents, grandparents) are from mexico. his dad is friends with a lot of illegals. they do all the suck jobs too. potato fields, corn fields, watermellon patches, clean up, and so on. my friend tells me that what they will do is save up their money and go back to mexico to live like a king/queen for a couple of years then come back to work again. he know because that is what they tell him and his day, that;s their plan. he and i both think it's a burdening factor on our society. they are pumping no money into our economy via taxes and such, but rather into their pockets. that to me is greed. i understand that their are little to no jobs in mexico, and no money. why? comrrupt government. they had a president for years who kept billions of dollars for himself and his people(friends, family) and pretty much bankrupted the country. i hope this new president can turn things around. i'm all for trade with mexico i just dont' think they should come here and work for money(not paychecks, cash) and slpit. if they want to work here, they should become legal citizens, pay taxed, and obey our laws. oh and learn some friggin english. please. it's hard to explain something to someone who knows one word in english:immigration. yell that to some illegals and they will run for the border, no pun intended. i tell you this from what i have learned hanging around them and listening to my friend translate what they say.

Texas or Tejas as it known to some of my neighbors won it's independence from Mexico many years ago. Many Mexicans and indians fought along side of the Texans fighting for independence. We have earned our right to say who should be allowed in our State unlike some of our neighboring states who were purchased by Uncle Sam. Because we won our independence and became a Nation we are the only state in the U.S. with legal rights to fly our state flag at the same level as the U.S. flag

Texas wasn't Mexico's to loose. As far as texas is concerned the only Mexicans that were here when Stephen F Austin received settlement rights were the poor and the ill treated of Mexico. ALong with them Texas Settlers Stood up to Mexico's Tyranny and told them to get the fuck out. The Only significant known ranchs I ever heard of near Texas at the time were both south of the Rio Grande. One surounding Mattamoras, and the Other in Accuna. Yeah I'd say Santa Anna fucked up, He underestimated how far God fearing people would go to win their Independence.

In Texas we know who does the farm work but some of you have a crazy idea that it's only Mexicans doing the labor....Reality Check....Take a trip out to West Texas were a good portion of our States Cotton is Grown and you tell me what kind of people you see working the fields. Or how about the Oil/Gas fields North Of Del Rio through Oddessa up to Lubbock. Most of those people are not Mexicans or Mexican/Americans...I've done farm work from Biglake, San Angelo, and Abilene and can not recall seeing very many Mexicans working in those areas.

Hell GO Check out the Farms in The Valley Even then you will find a good number of none hispanic Americans working those fields....A good portion of those workers are contract workers from west Texas. I knew a few faimlies who contract their labor in the summer time down in the valley.

I cant vouch for El paso or out West of Texas cause I know nothing of the Agriculture biz they deal with, but I worked enough and watched enough in West Texas and down in the Valley to know that the Mexican Nationals arent putting in Overwhelming numbers there

Loud and Clear there T V.......still wouldn't make these illegals legal......I live in Dallas/Irving, and it is a few of them here......they work like TCguy said, but the problems exist just like he said.......open the borders, but they should have to go thru the same process as everyone else who comes over......it is only right.
 
Comparing all the Major Texas Cities I think Houston has been lucky cause the INS has alot more resources poured in to battle the problem. I cant say houston has much of a problem with illegals compared to the other cities. I bet just about everyone from San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas has known someone who has

A. been involved in a trafic accident with someone who was illegal and uninsured

B. known of business raided near their homes for illegal workers

C. Seen one of those INS Raids before

1 of those at least and maybe a few of those happen
