Holy crap............

Thats all I can say about sprints... I don't think I've done them since I was maybe 12-13 years old...

I went out today, well, about 30 minutes ago... and hit the track.. for my new weekly tuesday sprints....

I warmed up with a 400 meter jog at a pretty good pace... then did my first 100 meter sprint(roughly 100 yards)
I then proceeded to run 100 meters 3 more times with a 100 meter break in between each sprint. Followed by another 200 meter jog and a 100 meter walk.

Once I finished all this... in roughly 10-15 minutes... an powerful diziness feeling which I'm not used to completely overwhelmed me... Its not been at least 20 minutes since i left and I still feel EXTREMELY uneasy... My hip flexors feel like somebody bounced on them like a trampoline and my hams feel like they've been in a chinese torture chambre.....

I can't wait to see how my wheels are feeling tomorrow....

:toilet: <-- this is where I'll be, preying to the porceline gods if anybody needs me :P

NICE!

I start sprints once it gets a little warmer.... i can't wait. I've never really done them before too. haha

I ran track in high school and college, 800m. we did sprints of all distances, all season...you want to know the most killer? 300m sprint, 100m jog, keep doing that until you fall down or you are puking so hard you cant breathe.

yeah I know that dizzy feeling you are talking about, great feeling IMHO. means you worked so hard theres too little oxygen in your brain!

I think it's normal.

The first time I really did HITT sprints, I did something almost exactly the same as you.... after warm-up, I would do probably around 100m sprint, then 100m moderate running....

.... and I nearly died. It completely screwed me. Dizzy beyond belief.... didn't feel nauseous, but I could barely move. I lay down for about 20 minutes before I could even think about walking home.

It gets better.

Funny how when people breath Nitrous oxide and deprive their brains of oxygen, its considered bad, but when someone works out hard and deprives their brain of oxygen, its a sign of a good workout ;)

I don't want to think about sprints just yet but now you just reminded me to start.
100's and 30's next on the menu as soon as May arises. Chute included and plyo's as well. Whew!
