One legged squats..here's how to do it

I wanna know what his dog was thinking......

and I bet that 'hit the deck' one legged squat was really a pic of him falling over......

You better have medical insurance, because one leg squats will put you in hospital with bung knees. A worse exercise i could not think of.

WHy and how?

They feel fine to me :)
No different from bench stepups and reverse lunges in a way, just harder

Well...nothing beats the squat...the old bar on the back deep squat...nothing. It has never been proven otherwise.

I CAN see the one legged squats as being something for athletes to try for training purposes...balance, coordination, etc...but not for strength.

Has it ever been proven that the squat is the be all and end all of strength?

How are you even defining strength???

Ummm...surely you don't mean to say that there is something better than the squat? The deadlift is a VERY CLOSE second...but the squat is a must.

Defining strength? Hmmm...I don't think I mentioned strength in the same sentence as squats...

Cleans, Snatches, Clean and Jerks, Overhead squats, Deadlifts, Trap Bar deadlifts.....I think plenty of things are better than squats.

Ok, I see your point better now, having re-read it. I still think 1-legged squats require quite a bit of strength.

Not related to the move, but isn't Mahler (the guy demonstrating the move) a vegan? I think I saw him on a vegetarian website.

You really believe that those things are better than squats? That you can not do squats and do one of those and still get the same growth and strength?
