ok whats the best way to approach a girl while she is working?

Like if your at a restaruant and u wan to get a waitresses number or a hostesses number? or even if u went into an office and there was a hot secretary there. if theyre doing theyre job you dont want to get them in trouble or something so im a little reluctant to ask for theyre number or anything what do you guys think is the best method for this. bars or clubs are so much eaiser in my opinion.
