an internet startup!
so 2 years ago I and my friend formed an LLC for a startup we set out to build (we had basically the same idea). I agreed to do a 50/50 split with him. He was in charge of managing the development and I agreed to invest about $6k to get the beta site built .This was supposed to take less then 6 months.. It's now been close to 2 years and nearly $20K and we're just getting close to our goal of getting this done. Over the past 2 years, my dear good ol friend has made several unnecessary & insignificant changes and redesigns.He just racked up the bills and kept sending them my way till I took everything into my own hands. I have come to realize that this dude has absolutely no experience, knowledge or business acumen necessary to get this done. Ever Since cutting him off from doing any kind of web development Management, his contribution has become completly nonexistent, he even refuses to put in any legwork in of running a company.
In short, while he was in charge of this project that I funded, he managed to miss the deadline by a year and half and racked up bills 4 times higher then quoted/estimated while coming nowhere close to a finished product. The most frustrating part about all of this is that it could all have been prevented if instead of lying he would have instead of asked for advice which was always available to him. All in all, being in business with dishonest, arrogant & what's turning out to be ignorant partner is no way to tackle this venture. Does anyone know if I could legally tell him to fuck himself since his contribution despite actually coming up with one the key elements of this site has been absolutely worthless.
