Notre Dame's firing of O'Leary is amazing...

It is amazing, but probably not uncommon for someone to lie like that on their resume. He said he had a Masters Degree (not) and that he had 3 football letters in college (never played a game).

What is strange is that he has been a successful football coach at the big-time college level. Notre Dame is the first institution to actually check up on his credentials.

I'll be there are a lot of resume liars out there in all professions. Probably 30% or more.

I would say it's a higher percentage than. In his case it was wrong yes, but what's different is he has already proven himself a very good coach. So I would not have fired him.

That's why I give props to Notre Dame. He would probably have been a good coach, but they upheld standards of integrity.
