Night Sweats

Recently I have been waking up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat and freezing. I am only 27 so I can't be in menopause yet! Also when I wake up I am hungry and have a hard time getting back to sleep. This happened to me last year at about this time as well. It was when I had been dieting for a show and then was finished with that diet and started to eat alot. After my show I felt so exhausted and awful and I gained 15 pounds within several weeks. I have been dieting more strictly since January (not for a show this time) and had dropped my body fat to 14%. A few weeks ago I had another "I don't want to do this anymore" break down and backed off of my dieting a lot. I am wondering if fluctuations in weight and body fat could be the cause of the night sweats? I have not really gained much weight this time (maybe 3 pounds). I am guessing my body fat has gone up though. I haven't had it checked again, but I know based on how I look.

It is probably chages in your metabolism based off of the extreme dieting vs. eating what you want. The body responds fairly quickly to what you give it - so it is probably trying to adjust.

I also get night sweats. I get them every night--for as long as I can remember. I dont know when it started--had to be years ago. Im 22 so not menopause and Its the same for me---I wake up cold and sweaty --so sweaty that my shirt is drenched--like I just ran miles. It's more annoying and uncomfortable than anything else.
