I am very interested in trying some cycles but first I want to make sure my diet is just right. I am 6'2" 190lbs 12% body fat, and started eating around 4000 calories/ 250g of protien a day, what is the best type of foods to eat for calories, and what should I stay away from. Should I eating more calories/prtien, (should i take a weight gainer, if so what brand is recomended). Any suggestion on diets would be greatly apperiated.

Dude if you can grow off of protien shakes god bless you, I need whole food to grow, so I keep the protien shakes to 1 a day and the rest whole food.

For protien eat: Red Meat (93%lean), Chicken breasts, Eggs,

For carbs eat: Oatmeal, Rice, Yams

In regard to simply growing, calories are calories. Regardless of that source of calories being a supplemental shake or "real food, take in (and digest) more then you burn and you will grow.

Assuming calorie intake is well calculated and consistent, macronutrient composition = body composition.

That being said, NJextreme is on the money with his food suggestions. Add low fat cottage cheese, skim milk, tuna, broccoli, spinach, and a piece of fruit per day and you've got plenty to work with.

Include a good vitamin/mineral supplement, a supplemental source of protein such as a good whey, and perhaps a high GI carb of some kind for post-workout recovery and your set.
